Edgeworth was not having a good day.

Then again, he rarely had a good day, especially not after those damnable "peace talks". He found the idea laughable before, but now they only left him more frustrated than ever. Despite being there for the banquet, he still had no idea what had happened (especially since he quickly found himself torn away from the investigation on "escort duty", of sorts). No matter how many times his brain ran through the facts and the rumors, he was still no closer to finding an answer. Instead, his mind was always sidetracked by old memories and events that would do best to remain in the past ( ... )

That loud shout could have very well been from Danny. He had no way to stop himself by the time he realized he was falling, and instead just prayed for the best. His fall was broken by another.

He scampered off of them and, in the process of wincing from the newfound pain in his ass, got a look at who he crashed into.

Well, Danny supposed praying only worked for people who weren't agnostic. "Commander!" Oh, he was in deep shit now. It took everything he had to not just bolt on the spot.

Edgeworth groaned, and as soon as the weight was off of him, he pushed himself off the floor and sat up.

And saw just what fell on him.

"Fenton," he growled, as he stood (shakily) on his feet. "Care to explain what happened?"

Danny instinctively took a step back as Edgeworth stood up. Boy he didn't look very happy. "I -uh."

Come on, Fenton. Come up with something. This won't be as bad as it can be. "I Fell." Okay, good start. Now keep going before the Commander's stare bore a hole through your skull.

"There was a spot on the ceiling, I was getting it off. Spit-wad or something." He pointed up, vaguely to where the alleged spot would have been.
