Riku did his best to sneak up behind her in order to wrap his arms around her from behind.
"Hey there..." He said, lips close to her ear. "Looks like someone went shopping..."

"AHH!" Rikku jumped as someone wrapped their arms around her waist, then relaxed when she realized it was just Riku. Smiling, she tilted her head towards his for a second.

"Nope, just raided the stores!"

He smiled warmly at her. "This is quite a spread here..." He looked to the bottles, and then back to his girlfriend. "Who do you think will get drunk first?"

"Depneds on who gets here first," Rikku pointed out. "But I vote....Hana, if Haruhi has her way and gets him drunk again."

He was the one to suggest the party, yeah, but then it occurred to Ness that he actually had no idea what a party on the Winding Way was actually like.

And so there he was, on the deck, enjoying the evening breeze.

Riku slipped across the deck, moving to stand around beside Nell.
"Hey." He replied gently. "How have you been lately?"

Ness almost jumped. He was really expecting to wallflower the night away, and he wasn't expecting Riku to come talk to him.

"'M fine."

He wasn't a very good liar.

Riku smiled faintly, sensing that something was up with the boy. He had suggested the party, after all.
"You want a drink?"

L stood on the upper deck, possessively licking one of his donuts, he was more concerned about what was going on at the Ball, but unless he missed his guess, the absence of the captain meant at least some intelligence on it would be freely available afterwards. He was interested in the peace there, though, more than a party with actors and ninjas.

Watari said socialize though, so here he was.

Vash was already a little worried about his party. It really had been a good idea for keeping people on the ship while the ball went on, but already it seemed rather big. And loud. He was wandering through the crowd to make sure that people weren't getting too rowdy, but at this rate, he wasn't sure he'd do much good at containing it.

He wasn't even that close to Ryuzaki when he noticed him - and the donut he was eating. Or, licking, but even still, Vash had trouble looking away. If their guest had donuts, that possibly meant that Naruto and Haruhi didn't know... which made it a very, very good thing for Vash. Wasn't being friendly to the guests part of his job description anyway?

It was with a big smile that he stepped up to Ryuzaki, this time unable to care much that he looked so creepy. "Having a good time?"

L looked up at the approaching First Mate, still munching happily at his donut. "I suppose so, parties are relaxing, right?" He honestly sounded like he had no idea if parties were supposed to be relaxing or not.

He offered Vash some candy with his free hand. He was slouching against the a railing of the ship, looking lazy. It decreased his mental efficiency, but he didn't have any cases to work on, so he probably could spare it.

He twiddled his toes. "Are you?"

Vash tried not to look too disappointed at not immediately seeing any more donuts on him. The candy was a bit of a surprise, though, and Vash said a quick "Thanks" as he took a piece. He didn't even hesitate, just unwrapped it and popped it into his mouth. Mmm, strawberry.

"I don't know that the parties themselves are relaxing," he answered truthfully. "Around here, they're more to let off steam so you can feel relaxed about it after the hangover." Vash put on his best friendly smile, wanting to try and at least get the guy to warm up a little, and not just for the sake of the donuts. "It's not anywhere near full swing yet, but it ought to be a lot more fun later."

Hanatarou was determined not to get drunk this time. He remembered all-too-well the morning after the last party, and how much his head had ached and how sore he'd felt. He was not going to go through that again.

Actually, he half-wanted to skip out on this altogether...but people had been telling him to try and be more confident and social and going to a party was a good way to get started, right?

L wound up offering candy to the smaller boy who also seemed to be more the wallflower type.

"Ryuzaki Coil, new passenger."

The man's appearance was bizarre and almost unnerving: those weird sunken eyes behind the dark hair...but Hana was determined to be social, so he smiled nervously at him and took the candy instead of running away.

"Uh, Hanatarou Yamada. Ship's Doctor," he said by way of introduction.

L continued to munch on a donut, obvious to any strangeness in their interaction. He would have pegged the boy as more likely to be a cabin boy than a doctor, although he certainly seemed intelligent enough. He also decided to munch on some candy, even though he already had a donut.

"That is a surprising accomplishment at such a young age." L wiggled his toes. He really could use a case or something to occupy his brain more.

Yuffie sauntered in and looked about the room, immediately disappointed at the lack of food around. She had imagined that by PARTY they meant FOOD and DRINKS and CAKE and..well--something more than just alcohol dammit!

She scowled and crossed her arms while leaning against the wall, frowning at everyone in the general vicinity.

What was a party without some decent food? Yuffie was starving.

Tohru had had rather the same feeling as Yuffie, though, coming at them from the cook's end of things, that meant that on hearing there was going to be a party, she'd immediately set to making snacks.

As a result, she was rather late arriving, and came in carefully balancing a large plate of sandwiches, which she set down on the table by the alcohol Rikku had brought. Standing back from the table, she looked around, uncertain as to what to do next - everyone in the area seemed to already be involved in conversations, or, like Yuffie, not looking very friendly.

With her arms still crossed Yuffie glanced over at the new arrival and immediately brightened up at the plate of sandwiches.

"Food, finally!"

She bounced over and took one in each hand, greedily taking a bite and ignoring the strange girl who brought them in. It was delicious, even more so due to the faint grumbling in her stomach and it wasn't long before she was thoughtfully licking the crumbs of her fingers, smiling as she reached out for another two.
