Rikku was heading back in from the spring when she saw Ness. Grinning, she ran up and glomped him.

"Hi!"

"But can I ask a serious question? Why him?"

It had always bugged Rikku that Ness was with someone like Joshua, who was a jerk and didn't seem to fond of people, while Ness was sweet and friendlier. She'd been hoping eventually that Ness would move on, but apparently that wasn't happening.

Ness paused, trying to figure out how to say it in a way that made sense.

"It's hard to explain," he admitted. "I know Joshua is...difficult."

Difficult was a nice way to putting it.

"But, I think we're both better people now because of each other." It was sappy, but it was really what Ness thought.

"Calling him difficult is like calling Kimi 'a little thin'," Rikku muttered. "And...that's really sappy, Ness." She grinned, though, and gave him another hug. "Can I whack him if he tries to leave you at the altar?"

Well, he figured if he wasn't going to let her plan the wedding (or at least not the whole thing), he might as well give her whacking rights.

"Of course you can!" he smiled.
