It was strange. Rikku was excited to be at Licere. It was fun, and hot springs were always good for relaxation.

But for some reason, all she could think of what it would be even better if Shuuhei were here with her. Stupid Shuuhei, taking up her Rikku-time.

But she did miss him. And the hot springs were segregated, so no going and bothering Ichigo or Kimi.

"Nope! Saw it myself from the gangplank!" Rikku grinned. "They're...not exactly 'cute' but definetiely a good pair, if you ask me~"

Kurumi laughed. "Well, I guess you could be right." She climbed up and sat on the boulder she'd been leaning over, placing the Milky Mirror on her lap and letting her legs dangle off the sides. "Although I guess I couldn't really see them with anybody else... It's not fair, though. How do idiots like them manage to get people with no obvious interest to like them back? I don't get it at all."

"I think they're still trying to figure that out themselves," Rikku admitted. "I'm...I'm not sure Ichigo knows what to do when you're falling for someone. Trust me, I've seen how he reacts when people confess crushes. It's never pretty." She shuddered.

Kurumi raised an eyebrow. "What, really? Then it's even less fair."

"Seriously. But at least they're together, yeah?" And knew what they were to each other. Rikku frowned a little, thinking.

"Good for them." Kurumi pouted again. "As long as Ichigo's weird dad doesn't do another embarrassing speech and put it all over the network. At least when Zeetha gave us the Talk before Amicus, I could hide in the back of the pantry until it was over."

"If Mr. Kurosaki doesn't already know, he'll find out, and it'll be embarrassment galore for everyone," Rikku pointed out. "Boy, am I glad my pops would just get angry and threaten the guy." She giggled nervously.

"What, seriously?" Kurumi slid down off the rock and sat beside Rikku in the water. "You're how old and your dad still gets mad at your boyfriends? That's just weird."

"There's a reason I don't talk to my pops unless I have to anymore," she said, rolling her eyes. "Okay, so my first boyfriend dumped me by jumping ship, and I finally told this guy I was dancing around with for forever to either date me or leave me alone, and he left me alone. But anyway. Needless to say, Pops'll find out about my boyfriend when he grows up."

...Wait, did she mean Cid would find out about Shuuhei when he grew up, or that he'd find out about any boyfriend when he grew up? Was Shuu even her boyfriend?!

Stupid boy.

Kurumi blinked and looked over at Rikku. "You have another boyfriend now? Was everybody hooking up when I wasn't looking? Who is he?"

Rikku swished her arms around in the water, biting her lip. "Uh...I'm not exactly sure if he's my boyfriend but...there's the guy on Serenity, really good-looking and all that. We were close, and he was the only one on the ship after Ichigo who trusted me or even really liked me, even after I accidentally got us all high. When I told him I was leaving for the Convoy...he kissed me." She blushed. "His name is Shuuhei."

"What do you mean, not sure? That sounds like a boyfriend to me." Kurumi stretched the arm holding the Mirror up in the air. Being in the water was getting somewhat awkward when she had to carry this thing around at all times. "Why didn't you bring him with you?"

"Because that was, A, the first time we kissed and I have no idea if he meant anything by it or not, and B, he fit in just fine on Serenity. I didn't. I wasn't gonna ask him to go with me to a ship he might not like based on one kiss. Ichigo and Kimi have years of...stuff between them," Rikku pointed out. "I didn't meet Shuu until we joined the same ship a few months ago. Big difference there."

Kurumi sighed. "Fine, fine. But if he really likes you, you'd better make sure he doesn't forget about you while you're gone. Send letters or something. Fifty a day if you have to. I would."

Well, that explained why the Way had kept running out of scrap paper after the cactuar incident.

"I'm planning on having something sent to him on Amicus, see what happens then," Rikku admitted. "And I've got his frequency, so it's not like we're gonna fall out of touch." She sighed. "I didn't think I'd miss him this much already, geez."
