Justin had been rather apprehensive about Hexadecimal's sudden network announcement, but in the end curiosity prevailed and he'd come out on the deck. Well, almost on the deck. He was standing near the top of one of the less-used stairways, and looking rather ready to run back down.

There turned out to be no need for that, though. The fireworks seemed safe - not to mention absolutely beautiful. He looked up at the sky, transfixed, and didn't move for a moment even after the display was over.

"That... was definitely not what I was expecting."

Hex watched the fireworks with a very [Satisfied] mask on. She whirled towards the sound of the young man's voice and laughed. It was not a crazed or evil laugh, simply an amused one.

She flashed him a [Smile.] "I should hope so, dear. I detest being predictable." Not that Hex could even be predictable if she tried. That was the thing about Chaos Viruses... they had to be chaotic. There was no other way for them to be.

He did take a half-step back at her sudden movement - even when she wasn't being in the least threatening, the center of Hex's attention wasn't exactly a comfortable place to be for someone like Justin. But he did smile back.

"It was beautiful. I've never seen anything like it." Admittedly, he hadn't seen a lot of fireworks in his life. But even so, he could tell Hex's display was far above the usual grade, and must have required a lot of work and ingenuity to set up.

She responded with a very enthusiastic: "Really? How utterly glooorious! I tried so very hard, you know, and spent simply ages working on it! I could have destroyed the entire ship three times over if I'd wanted to, dear! But Scuzzy kept me on task... he's so thoughtful that way."

Sam didn't exactly have a fun time in Antrim and this potential danger was just another problem heaped onto him. Hex wouldn't do something destructive again now would she? That wouldn't be very chaotic... right?

But just in case he made his way onto the deck. He did initially wince when she threw what looked like a rather gaudy looking bomb, but relaxed when he saw the fireworks. They were rather nice and the flowers were a nice touch.

He clapped, a bright smile on his face.

Fortunately for the ship, Hex had promised the Captain to focus more on the Light Side of the Force Creation side of Chaos rather than Destruction. He'd even cleared out one of the storage areas for her to play in, which is where she'd made this particular toy.

At the clapping, she turned, and flashed the son of Time a [Smile.] "Did you like it?"

"Very. The flowers were a nice touch."

Sam brushed off a few petals that had landed in his hair. They reminded him of the Hanami festival just months earlier.

"How long have you been preparing this?"

Hex spoke very quickly, gesturing with her hands as she always did, but in this case they moved almost in a blur. "Oh, simply ages, dear! I'm very surprised I stayed with it for so long! Usually my attention span is so very short. But Scuzzy was a great help."

Bumblebee couldn't get to the deck fast enough. He . . . wouldn't necessarily try to stop Hex - he wasn't sure he could if he wanted to - but if there was going to be a mess to clean up, by Primus he-

-stopped at the display of fireworks and light, and the gentle rain of...flowers?

Crossing the deck to the Virus, he stopped beside her to look up at the shower. "It's . . . it's beautiful, Hex." He didn't mean to sound so surprised . . . but he was.

Ooh, now there was someone she was happy to see! Not that Hex was really ever unhappy to see anyone on the ship; they were all so gloriously chaotic and unpredictable. But Bumblebee held a special place in her processor, as he first crewmember she'd successfully infected.

She flashed him a [Large Smile] at his words, and floated over to him. "Do you really think so, dear?"

Hex was kind of special to Bumblebee as well, if only as one of the very few other inorganics on the continent ship. In some ways, she was someone he could relate to at least a little better than most of the other crew.

That...was kind of a scary thought, actually.

Oh, well. Over the months, he'd gotten to know her better, and accept her quirks. Even the destructive ones. It wasn't like she was ever truly malicious about it. Not that she actually wanted to hurt anyone, or not allies anyway. He'd known that even when she destroyed part of their ship. Pit, he'd let her nearly trash him trying to help her get through that overcharge. And that time she'd infected him, he . . . well, okay, he'd been supremely annoyed at the time, but he could look back at it now and laugh. It had been pretty silly ( ... )

Hex flashed him a somewhat creepy smile. "It was those smoke bombs, dear. I found one after we'd taken back the ship. Such an intriguing design, if a bit simple. I thought of what glorious Chaos I could do with such a machine!" She interrupted herself to laugh maniacally. Then, as quickly as she'd begun, she stopped, and looked [Thoughtful], then [Sad].

"But the dear Captain did ask me not to destroy the ship anymore... so very tragic! I had to think of what else I could do with my lovely new toy!"
