Navigation's Room or w/e reborn_wings October 5 2010, 06:58:16 UTC
The door was open- as it tended to be when he was working in case anyone had any important questions, even if 'where are we' and 'where/how far is x' tended to be the norm. They had arrived in Shashta now, however, and most of the crew was out exploring. It'd be nice to step outside again, he supposed, but as he was responsible for the overall maintenance of the room, cleaning up the various maps and instruments littering it took first priority.

Idly congratulating himself for getting the ship to it's destination on time and safely despite his spell of illness, he was more or less in good humor as he strolled around the room with various papers under his arm and took the time to straighten up.

On his last airship, this was around where the radio room was. However, because exactly nothing was where Soma was used to for things to be, naturally, this wasn't it. The door was open, so he decided to peek in to see what it was. From the looks of everything, this was the navigation room, and it was occupied at the moment, probably by one of the navigators. Well, now he knew where another thing was.

He started to leave when he noticed a paper on the floor. It must have fallen off a desk or table and fluttered all the way out the door. Soma figured the nice thing to do was bring it back in, in case it was important.

"Here, I found this outside," he called, holding out the errant paper.

Neji straightened, attention diverting to the door to take in a very pale person standing just outside. The white hair led him to believe the man as elderly but as he stepped closer, found differently. He quirked a curious brow and retrieved the offered paper.

"Thank you." He murmured, glancing over the sheet briefly to ascertain where it belonged, then looked back up at the stranger- skeptical. "I don't believe I've seen you before."

"You're right, you haven't," Soma replied. "I'm new to this ship - a passenger. Just got on today."

Even if it was something he was completely unused to, he wast starting to get a feel for the ship - its general layout, its atmosphere, and the mood of the crew. They certainly seemed like an odd bunch, but there was nothing wrong with that.

"I'm Soma Cruz," he introduced.

Training Room anonymousryuuki October 5 2010, 13:18:01 UTC
As much as he would love tobe exploring the town, there was something else Ryuuki needed to do first.

Training.

He had been spending so much time lately learning all those (basic) skills an Airman needed, he hadn't really kept up with his training. He swept at his bangs with a wince. His teacher would kill Ryuuki if he ever found out.

He dropped into another ready stance, spurred on by the ambition to not be killed if he ever met his teacher again.

So this was the training room, huh? It looked like it saw more use than the one on the other ship Soma was on. He supposed that made sense. Serenity wasn't a squeaky clean merchant ship, after all.

There was someone in here too, and it looked like the man was hard at work. While it might have looked like routine training at first glance, there was something about this person was driven more than just a desire to keep skills sharp.

Standing in the doorway, Soma decided to stop and watch a little bit, just out of curiosity.

Not noticing his audience, Ryuuki continued until he reached the end of his exercise. He breathed a sigh of relief at the end. It didn't look like his skills have suffered too much lately. Of course, it was a bit hard to tell without someone to spar with, but it seemed all right...

Then he noticed the person standing in the doorway. He blinked, then sheathed Bakuya with a smile.

"Hi."

Soma had meant to leave after watching, but it seemed he was too late and was already spotted. Fortunately, this person seemed to be very friendly.

"Hello," he said, returning the greeting. "You're very good."

Of course, Soma tended to think of anyone who was better than him as "very good," which was understandable due to his relative inexperienced compared to many other fighters.
