Aileru had been doing a pretty brisk business. The tea market was booming, who knew? Now that the old tea master had shown him his secrets, he would be unstoppable! Of course the white blossom was hard to come by, so he made due with the other Hanami flowers he came across. Even better, was that this way he could see what the properties of the stranger ones were without making the effort to test them all himself. Two birds, one stone.

His cart was tucked in beside a building, out of the sun, and close enough to the street to not be missed completely. The best part about this was how effortless it was. "Hey," he said to a sap--er, customer-looking fellow passing by, "Wanna buy some Hanami tea?"

"What variety?" he inquired, moving closer to inspect the cart more thoroughly. Though he did love tea, most of the varieties around and about the festival thus far had been far too sweet and flowery for his tastes. The vendor looked trustworthy, and Pfirisch had to smile at the affectations of fashion that the young man displayed.

"Is it very sweet, dear? I'm afraid that I don't have much of a taste for sweet things."

Dear? Weirdo. "Only one variety. Like I said, this is Hanami tea, brewed in the style of the Hanami tea master, the most famous and most talented tea brewer in the entire Hanami festival." he said, gesturing over his wares. "Surely you've heard of him?"

Pfirsich blinked. Iroh was selling his tea at the market? He was quite the entrepreneur these days, it seemed! "Of course I have!" he said with a laugh. "He's a dear friend of mine. I would be honored to have another cup of his tea."

As fun as the festival was, Chie was really getting tired of all the flowers. They were pretty, but they kept distracting her when she was trying to play some of the games and some of them were really hard to get out of her hair.

Wandering around, Chie decided to look for a new place to get steak skewers. She was hungry.

Pfirsich had to admit to himself that he was feeling a bit peckish, and though he could smell the delicious scents of cooking food, he hadn't yet located the food vendors themselves. Shading his eyes with one hand, he glanced about to his left and right, and happened to spot a young lady with a determined look on her face. She seemed to know where she was going!

"Pardon me, dear," he said, "but you seem to know your way about the festival better than I. Might you know where one could get some real food? I don't have the stomach for so many sweets, and heartier fare would be a welcome change."

"Huh?" Chie turned around, and spotted the man. "What do you mean by 'heartier' food?" she asked. "Like, steak or chicken or something?"

"Both sound delicious," said with a laugh. "Meat and potatoes would be lovely after so much sugar."

Tamaki himself had been surveying the market. He felt that his quarters in his ship was rather drab and was trying to find something exciting, if not... common for his taste.

He took a cast iron pot, stared at for somewhile before checking out this old... wooden... thing. It looked like a small house but it had a hole in a middle. Maybe it's a doll house. But that poor doll would look so sad if he had only one window. The good count even shook things a bit just to check if it had some furniture. The silence was telling. Do commoners not put furniture in their own doll houses!?!

The booth that the Count was in had also caught Pfirsich's eye, and he poked through the odds and ends that it had to offer. Most of it was bric-a-brac, but there was a rather fetching flower pot and a lovely old teapot that he decided to pick up for his quarters.

When he saw Tamaki trying to puzzle out the mystery of the birdhouse, he nodded at it and smiled. "What sorts of birds do you have about your house? That looks to be about right for bluebirds, I think."

Gaara, by nature, was not much of a festival person. Having already bought the new clothes that he needed-- which was now tucked safely away inside the large gourd strapped to his back-- the redhead was just wandering around, brooding and glaring daggers at the random vendors who kept trying to sell him strange things. Because Gaara didn't need 'eyeliner remover,' for he did not wear any make-up whatsoever, and the raccoon-like rings around his eyes were in fact caused by insomnia. Pale blue eyes absently searched out something worth his time, probably looking only about half as put-out as he felt.

Pfirsich, however, was, and was having a merry time of it today. He'd done his share of traveling while in the Ivonan military, but far preferred seeing the world laid out a market, as opposed to on the other end of his sword. He carried a small bag slung across one shoulder, filled about halfway full with the purchases that he'd made so far.

He couldn't help but notice the sullen-looking young man as they passed one another. "Pardon me," he said with a kind smile, "but you look distraught. Can I offer my assistance in any way?"

Gaara had been just about to give up on his explorations and head back to the Convoy when he heard someone speak to him. The redhead slowly blinked up at the taller, friendly-looking man, his face its usual unreadable mask. "...I am not distraught." he said bluntly, before slowly shaking his head a fraction. "...Probably not."

He'll be happy to try his best. :) a_perfect_peach September 18 2010, 23:03:45 UTC
"How is it that you're not certain, then?" Pfirsich asked, leaning down so that he wasn't towering above the poor boy. "Still thinking things over, perhaps, and not certain how it is that you feel about something? If I may, I know just the thing to help with that."
