It was cutting it close, but Hisagi had found Rikku's gift in the markets, thankfully on time. It was a delicate designed hairpiece that also doubles as a concealed needle; while it was not too fancy, the weapon was well crafted and sold at a pretty reasonable price. Most importantly, it was durable. Careful to keep the plain cloth wrapped around the present, Hisagi made his way to Rikku's room.

Turtle heard him coming before Rikku did, and bolted out to meet her human's friend. Giggling a little, Rikku followed, waving at Hisagi. "Hi~! Happy birthday!"

Hisagi bent down to give Turtle a few scratches before he turned to Rikku. "I should say the same to you! Happy Birthday, Rikku-san! I hope your trip went well?"

"Yup!" She grinned and gave Hisagi a quick hug. "Well, I had to deal with Pops and his stupid Pops-ness, but other than that, it was good! C'mon, your present's been ready for weeks!" Laughing, Rikku tugged Hisagi after her.

"Nah. Just thought you have a different purpose from making that, is all."

Rikku giggled, flopping back down next to Hisagi. "A lot of the stuff I make started out just for kicks," she explained. "Unless someone specifically asks me to make something for them."

Hisagi grinned. "Just for kicks? You're clearly talented! If you have time and the spare parts, you can start your own business making toys."

"What I really wanna do is traveling airship maintenance and repair," Rikku replied, gesturing to the ship around her. "Airships are so cool and detailed. They're like giant toys, and each one's different." She smiled fondly. "Plus, I get to see a lot more of Reial with 'em."
