Even though he had grown and changed, it seemed she had not. She was a demi-human, so this didn't really surprise him. But it was still oh so surreal.
"You..." He muttered, almost too soft for all but the sharpest ears to hear.

...Her. No. This... this couldn't be real. The odds were stacked against them ever meeting again, this couldn't be happening. But there he was, so much older, fully grown by now. Because that's what people did, they grew, they changed, they didn't stay frozen in time the way she did.
Ginko. His name was Ginko and the resurfacing memories were starting to make things hurt. The kitsune remained where she was, frozen, a look of pain and sadness on her face.

But Ginko's truest flaw was the inability to leave something alone until it burned him again and again. So instead he took a step, a trembling step.
"Please... don't run."

It was late, and she had considered calling it a day and heading back to the ship. But something glimmering in the moonlight, like a delicate strand of pure silver, had caught her eye. And now she found herself stopped in the middle of the street, gaping up at the sky.
She had never seen anything quite like it before. A mysterious and beautiful sight.

"Excuse me... have we met?"

Now that he mentioned it, he looked faintly familiar. If not for their recent contact over the journals, she might not have remembered him at all. However, the recent reminiscing had freshened the memories in her mind: memories of a time long ago when a white-haired boy had joined their caravan for a period. Memories filled with mysterious yet strangely beautiful creatures...
"... Ginko!" Her expression lit up. "Do you remember? It's me, Jean!"

Oh she had certainly grown, but he supposed he had too, even if he didn't really feel too different then he had those long misty days with the caravan, when he was still learning who he was.
