Sophie wasn't much of a slither-outer, but she was, in fact, not looking for trouble just now. So at the news of saboteurs on board, Sophie had decided taking refuge in Howl's much closer (to where she was at that moment) quarters was the wisest thing to do.

Which was what found her knocking on his door, looking nervous over her shoulder for any signs of, well. People who looked as if they might be up to a spot of sabotage.

Howl looked over his shoulder at the knock and flicked a hand in the direction of the door, opening it so that Sophie could get it.

"How are things out there? Chaotic yet?" He probably sound more flippant than he really felt--he didn't want anyone to get hurt, but this was hardly his fight, was it? And no one had asked for his help.

Slipping inside quickly and shutting the door behind her, she shook her head, but answered, "It's getting there. Everyone seems to be working at cross-purposes out there, if they're allowed to get anything done at all."

"Not as chaotic as here," she muttered mostly to herself. She always forgot what a mess this place was until she saw it again. It was easier than thinking about a mess he wouldn't let her do a darn thing about--while he was in the room too, at least.

"That's the Ivonian Navy for you," Howl replied, dumping the spell he'd been concocting onto a square of paper and wrapping it up. "Tripping all over themselves in their boundlessly superior way." Not that he had anything against them, really, but it was sort of amusing, in its own way.

"What was that? I didn't quite catch it. Anyway, I've got something for you to work on, if you'd like." Keeping Sophie busy was essential, he'd found. Who knew what she'd get into if left idle?
