TO THE HELM! >:[fangofjusticeJune 24 2010, 04:13:05 UTC
Flickering stoves and freezing showers were of none of Leo's concern. Saboteurs who threatened to take out the ship, however, were another matter entirely. As soon as the strange signal had been picked up, he had snapped his journal shut and left his post with an air of purpose, sword at his side and cape fluttering dramatically behind him.
These terrorists had made their intents clear. The only thing that escaped Leo was their intent behind posting the message. To boast in sight of imminent victory? To threaten the ship into a state of panic? He wasn't the one to say.
He was, however, one to take this as a challenge, a gauntlet thrown down before the crew of the Amestris.
Instinctively, the first place he headed was to the helm. He had not used it, obviously, since the ship had landed long before this mess began. But even without having checked it prior, he had a feeling he was going to find something there: if you wanted to disable an entire ship, two of the most critical points to hit would be the engine and the helm,

Bu-ling was supposed to be hiding with the other kids and the passengers, but like she was going to do that. There were people to save. She was the heiress to the Yellow Monkey Dojo, after all, and she had to earn its name back. But more importantly, everyone on the ship needed help.
Only bad guys picked on people who didn't deserve it, she thought. These people on the radio were bad guys.
And so the little girl and her monkey slipped out of the gathering pool of passengers and ran as fast as they could. Where would bad guys be? Oh! There was Leo-oniichan! He would know.
He stopped suddenly, turning with a look of concern on his face. "What are you doing here? There are dangerous people on the ship, Bu-ling! You should go find the rest of the passengers and entertainers, and stay with them, where you'll be safe."
Needless to say, he had no idea Bu-ling was more than just a strange girl with a strange monkey.
"Bu-ling wants to fight the bad guys too nano da!" She looked up at him and nodded, looking as serious as was possible for her. The monkey did the same thing, hands on hips. "Because anyone who tries to wreck our ship and hurt everyone who didn't do anything to them is a bad guy! And Bu-ling wants to protect everyone no da!"
NEAR THE LIVING QUARTERS?manicuredsmileJune 24 2010, 07:02:01 UTC
Kristoph, of course, had trained with more classical weaponry, as much as he despised it. He was decent, but it was not in his nature to aim for a fair fight, and so the idea of running into one was only slightly less unpleasant than a possibility of bloodying his clothes. Still, he wore a sword belted at the waist in case of something (not ornate, but well-made), and in his sleeve concealed a number of other ways to eliminate such a problem.
That being said, he offered a courteous smile to the guard assigned to him. Hijikata, right? The gentleman he had spoken too. The man had a military bearing, and Kristoph rather liked a person who obeyed orders. It spoke well of them.
"Is every day on this ship so exciting?" He asked, grinning just a bit, one hand loosely resting near the hilt. "I was under the impression it would be mostly paperwork and diplomacy."
Most people in his position might have wondered about the politics about being given such a task like this, but Hijikata on the other hand could really care less - sure, he did wonder a little, but other than that he simply just did what was required of him. Politics and all that whatnot were never his strong traits; all he needed to do was what had been ordered of him, and he'd do it to the best of his ability. Especially at this point of time, what with everything that was going on.
So here he was now, assigned as a bodyguard to that Vohemaro diplomat who pinged him in all the wrong ways. Not that the samurai was going to let that out for now, as much as he trusted his senses - as hotheaded as he could be, even Hijikata knew better than to suddenly jump to conclusions.
As it was, all the dark-haired man did was to cross his arms, puffing out a cloud of cigarette smoke from the tobacco stick hanging from his lips as he replied. "Hell if I know. Its the first time anything like this happened." But if his time on the Victoria II had

What a disgraceful, disgusting habit. It stained one's teeth, it stained one's fingers, and it left the most rancid odor. Still, Kristoph nodded, and remembered his words from earlier, and had to take it at that. While he hardly trusted the Lieutenant, a 2v1 fight was always better than a fair one, as long as you were on the two side.
"Is it?" He echoed, "I can't imagine that bodes well for a ship so new, to lose its captain, its machinery, and be sabotaged so soon. Then again, perhaps it's good that it's all happening at once, and we won't have anymore problems afterwards."
Hijikata didn't know anything about disgraceful and disgusting, but the cigarettes sure helped in keeping his head in one piece - it was a bad habit, sure, but it was the lesser evil compared to blowing his top every five seconds (which still happened... but anyway). He didn't care much about numbers in fight either - he was the guy who would go up against a hundred and still not even bat an eye.
"Solare hardly has anyone 'good' in the first place," the boatswain admitted as he glanced around, making sure that the coast was clear before moving on. "They usually do know better than to go against the military though." Himself excluded unfortunately; he being the Demon of Solare was usually more than enough reason to spur the gangs and thugs living in this shithole to come and attack him.
Not that Hijikata minded all too much - they were a good way for him to let off some steam.
Heading towards the enginesdragon_radianceJune 24 2010, 21:59:27 UTC
The message had sent Flynn's gut sprialing downwards into his knees. This was not what they needed right now, and he had to wonder if this was all connected to the attack on the train, or if these people had only known a good chance when they saw one.
Either way, he knew that if it was HIM attacking a ship this way, he'd go for the engines first. Cripple the wings and the bird can't escape, after all. True, he didn't really know a thing about engines, but if he could catch someone instead of something...
It didn't help that he had slipped away from his bodyguards during all the mess. Not on purpose, mid you, but he wasn't going to wait. He was a solider before he was a diplomat, after all.
/throws a crazy fellow Erealian at youkillallsparksJune 27 2010, 02:59:07 UTC
Almost directly after getting on the ship, Othar had headed directly towards the engine room. Since he knew the main saboteur had to be a Spark (who else would be so evil?) it was logically the best place to go. What was this? Someone else was around the engine room? Othar crept around for a closer look. What was that youth wearing?! He hadn't seen clothes like that since he'd left Erealia!
"Excuse me, young woman!" he called to Flynn. "This is hardly a safe place to be! There's a dangerous Spark on the loose somewhere in the vicinity. Come, I shall escort you to safety!"
If there were saboteurs on board, they were certain to head for the engine room. It was only logical; first thing you';d want to do is cripple the ship's mobility.
And so that was where Garibaldi was headed, loaded pistol in hand. Maybe he wasn't military, but that had never stopped him before.
There were two people in the engine room when he barged in. He recognized one of them as an Ivonan diplomat, but the other was less familiar to him.
"Nobody move," he ordered, putting on his best Cop Voice. He wasn't taking any chances.
At first Flynn assumed that the voice -had- to be talking to someone else. He looked one way, then the other, looking for the young woman in distress this strange man had to be speaking to. There was no one.
"Excuse me? I-" But any shock and horror was quickly distracted by Garubaldi coming in. He froze, raising a hand in surrender.
Cargo Area! For anyone who wanted to help Zura out.notabomberJune 25 2010, 01:10:34 UTC
What had started as an idea to inspect the ship in general had suddenly become far more urgent with a terrorist group claiming to have already committed acts of sabotage on the ship. Granted, they were docked, so at least the did not have to worry about crashing, but there were still people who could be injured by any number of catastrophes on board.
Taking note of the areas people had already gone to cover, Katsura lead his group of volunteers deep into the cargo holds of the ship. It seemed a perfect place for sabotage--it was large, dark, and filled with cargo that could easily be used to conceal both those doing the tampering, and the damage to the ship itself.
It wasn't going to be an easy mission, but he had faith in the Amestris' crew.
Scrambling after he had gotten the message, Chopper hurried to his quarters and packed a few herbs for anyone that needed them. As he headed to the cargo area, a small wave of panic swept over the reindeer. What if there were terrorists ahead? And with guns, at that?
Struggling, he calmed himself, knowing that protecting the ship would be necessary in this case. Guns or not, he had to fight as hard as he could.
As the group headed in, he looked around cautiously, checking for anyone or anything suspicious.
"Um," he asked. "Is there anything we should be on the lookout for?"
Shadows crept along the sides of the walls and floors, seeming to envelop the entire cargo hold with each step they took into the room. Footsteps and a set of hooves resounded clearly within the deadening silence, a sound that was almost eerie considering their location. Undoubtedly, it would prove wise to take Kotaro's advice of "be on your guard" to heart. Of course, Tear didn't need a reminder. Armed with her sharpened staff and her usual garters of knives, she kept her senses alert and prepared for anything.
Link had a bit of a frown, set in already. He was obviously annoyed, but not so obviously shaken up, about this whole situation, and from his Shadow reawakening only days earlier dude to a certain racist grandmother, he was still mentally beating himself over that.
However despite that, Link was as armed as he could be. His trusty tunic and parachute pants on, and his bag of holding attached to his belt on his back. His long sword attached, beneath the shield on his back, and the sheath of his short one on his right hip.
He continued walking down in what would be total silence, if he was not lightly hitting the wall with his blade, ever few feet.
To the infirmary!chasingwombatsJune 27 2010, 06:12:59 UTC
Chase figured that if anyone wanted to sabotage the ship there were 2 places they must take out. One was the engine and the other was the infirmary. Take out the engine and the ship was a sitting duck, take out the infirmary and the whole crew was a target. Chase wasn't familiar with the layout of the engine room, but he was very familiar with the infirmary which was why he was currently running down the hallways towards it.
While he was a doctor, he was still very much an officer of the military. He had his gun out, ready to shoot at any intruders.
Barragan sat up in his bed, wincing as his movements aggravated his stab wounds. He may be stuck in this accursed chamber for the time being, but he still followed the Network; the technology was new to him, but still clearly valuable and useful.
There were intruders on the ship. Hostile. There was concerned talk of possible assassinations. And he knew that he might be a target as well.
Barragan had endured many assassination attempts throughout his long and storied life. He had survived them all. He had no plans to fall victim to one now. Grunting with each ponderous step he took, he dragged his massive frame across the room, positioning himself beside the room's entrance, ready to catch any would-be assassins by surprise as they entered the room.
Chase slowed as he neared the infirmary, it wouldn't do to alert any intruders. Because Rou was such an attention whore Because of recent events he had completely forgotten that there was one patient still in the infirmary.
With the gun pointed at the door, Chase opened the door as quietly as he could.
"Doctor Chase," Ariane said as the door was opened, "there will be no need for firearms. The infirmary is secure, despite the efforts of patients who damned well know that they're not to move to blow the whole thing." She glared icily at Barragan.
