It had been a while since the two of them had seen each other face to face, and to be honest, she wondered if she should have waited a while. Her recent conversation with the newly appeared DiZ still weighed heavily on her mind, and Naminé wasn't sure if seeing Sora might have swayed her into talking and revealing DiZ.

But going out to spend time with him had the opposite effect. He'd always had a calming effect on her, after all. So it was quite happily that she trotted along after Sora as they walked down the river. She had already been searching for a nice place to stop and paint as they went along, and at his prompting, she tore her eyes away from the beautiful scenery to return his smile.

"That clearing right up ahead is perfect." And yes, it was a perfect little niche amongst the scenery where she could paint and he could fish. Naminé stepped into the clearing and glanced around before sighing softly and contentedly.

"Looks good to me, too." Indeed, there was a nice, smooth rock that sat out a little bit from the bank. Moving over to it, Sora set his can down in the grass, and felt around in his back pocket for a little pack of hooks while Naminé did whatever she needed to do to situate herself.

Naminé set down her bag of supplies on a similar smooth rock a little ways away from where Sora's was, her pencils, pens, and brushes clattering around in their boxes as she pulled them out. Soon enough she had a small pile of art supplies surrounding her, and it wasn't until she finally pulled out several canvases and a small easel that she sat down. She slipped off her shoes and dipped her feet in the water, just gazing out at the landscape of the opposite bank, and of the river and trees around them.

She turned to watch Sora and his progress of setting up, tilting her head a bit. She'd never fished herself, though she'd seen it done once or twice before. "Do the fish bite very much in rivers?"

After finally locating his hooks, Sora brought one out, and threaded it through the end of his line. Tying it off, he broke the excess with his teeth, before he replied.

"Dunno; this is the first time I've ever fished in one. Or uhm, used a pole at all, before."

Back home, the island's wet season always created a multitude of streams that flowed down from the higher ground. When he was a kid, he'd often caught minnows and frogs in them for fun. Always with just his hands, or later a small net, though.

But that was hardly enough to deter Sora from trying his hand at real river fishing. "I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, though! How hard could it be?"
