"You okay?"

Reno was staring at Ichigo from over by his plane, bottle of beer in hand. He was on his way to work on the plane, when he saw the new kid. "Are you sick or something, yo?"

"Huh?" Ichigo blinked. He'd been so distracted, he hadn't noticed the other pilot in the hangar. "No, I'm okay," he lied more smoothly than usual. "Just a headache."

Ha ha ha ha ha~

"I'll be fine."

Reno cocked an eyebrow, not sure if he should believe the kid or not. After all, how many times had he used the excuse 'just a headache' to hide any number of things that were decidedly not headaches? But, hey, it was the kid's business.

"You're the new kid," he commented, looking at the plane. "...Weren't you flying for the Winding Way at the races? What the hell're you doin' here, yo?"

"Yeah, I did," Ichigo replied, nonchalant. "Wait, who the hell are you calling 'kid'?" he demanded. "You don't look any older than I am!"

Arguments were comfortable. They were familiar. Maybe this wasn't the best impression to make, but right now, Ichigo wasn't too worried about the other members of the crew. Coming off as nice wasn't exactly his top priority.

The pink-haired Quartermaster waited for him following his request for employment. Ichigo Kurosaki, was it? A Pilot? Well, there was only one place that the new recruit would enter and that would be the hangar. He supposed that he could land directly on the deck, but he had a feeling that it was less likely and also less safe. Well, that, and he would be annoyed if he did on behalf of Anthy and her potted flowers.

He gave him the hour he'd estimated and a little more due to his own business and then made his way down there, hoping to greet the boy before anybody else got to him. Well, he was set to have no luck there, but it didn't matter -- he'd find him anyway. Given his being a little more behind than he would otherwise like, he was sure that if he didn't catch him in the hangar, he would almost certainly bump into him on his way down.

you guys are so short on officers ;; flight_15 January 21 2010, 22:32:08 UTC
Ichigo had just nicely left the hangar when he spotted a woman with bright pink hair. Honestly, his first thought was Utena?! But the face was different, and so were the build and clothes.

Huh. I guess pink hair isn't all that unusual, he thought to himself.

He could probably get information from this woman, anyway. "'Scuse me," he said. "Where's the infirmary?"

I know. D=> phytotoxin January 21 2010, 22:54:53 UTC
Marluxia would argue if somebody described his hair as 'bright' pink. He preferred to think of it as soft pink if he had to categorise it at all. Still, he looked up when he saw the carrot-topped boy leave the Hangar. He definitely wasn't a member of the crew, so there was only person he could be if not a stowaway.

"Ichigo Kurosaki?" He asked, his voice rather deeper than his hair gave him credit for.

When looked at close up, Marluxia didn't look female or, indeed, feminine at all. The shoulders were too broad, the face... although pretty by some definitions, was not exactly girlish, either.

T-that's not a girl, Ichigo realized with a sinking feeling. Shit, that was weird, hearing a voice like that coming from a dude with pink hair. Though he didn't look quite as girly close-up, Ichigo noticed.

Mastering his shock, Ichigo replied, "Y-yeah, that's me." Okay, he had to get ahold of himself. He was on a pirate ship. This wasn't like the Winding Way, this was like the Amadeus. Ichigo had gotten soft over the past year. It was time to toughen up and show no signs of weakness to unfamiliar people until he figured out who he could trust.

Sometimes, Kensei had to wonder about the mentality of his own decisions.

Okay so sure, he was pretty certain now that that Ichigo kid was a Vaizard pretty much like him and Shinji and Hiyori - but of course, the next question that came was why; just how and why was that kid a Vaizard? As far as he could tell, that orange-head didn't have a single relationship with Aizen; he was from the Winding Way after all, and... well, god knows where Aizen was anyway.

Too many questions, so little answers... the silver-haired man didn't really know what to do situation, but he did know one thing at least - since the kid was here (thanks to Yoruichi), that meant that he had lost control of his Hollow as well. And like hell if he wanted that to happen again; it was going to be up to him and the other two blondes to get that orange-head to beat the shit out of his Hollow.

...that is, after he was fully healed and discharged.

A few beds away, Shinji was feeling like as much of a trainwreck as the day before, and the day before that. Every time he moved his casted arm, it didn't exactly hurt, but it was uncomfortable to be restricted like that, unable to bend it however he wanted. He kept the sling off in bed and avoided putting it on when up except for when Penny was around to threaten him with a death glare, but either way, the cast felt way too weird.

Apart from what he'd heard from Yoruichi, the Vizard leader wasn't entirely sure what to expect of this Ichigo Kurosaki. He didn't even know what he looked like, but he did know what his reaitsu felt like, and that familiar trickle was ambling down the hallway.

Well, this was going to be interesting.

The door to the infirmary opened, and the source of that reiatsu stuck his head into the room. "Ah, found it," he said, looking around.

....well, that was a sorry sight. Ichigo stepped into the room and shut the door behind him, looking at the two in the infirmary. Seriously? he thought. These are the guys who are going to teach me to control my hollow?

I'm screwed.

Kensei perked his head up the moment the door was open, and he blinked at the sight of their... newest addition (he supposed he could call the other that) - he hadn't changed much since the last time he saw him back at the races, but he could see the weariness that was on his face. The pain that had come with the knowledge of what lived within him.

...still, that didn't discount the fact that the kid had a very disapproving look on his face. It didn't take a genius to figure out what was in his mind at that moment.

"The Long Night isn't exactly a fun time for any of us, kid," the silver-haired man started, almost as if he had read the other's thoughts. There was a pause then as he pushed himself up properly, wincing at the pain that stabbed on his side - damnit, maybe he should have asked for some painkillers... even if they were ineffective, they'd at least make this while thing better. "Anyway, there's also Hiyori besides us..."

Speaking of that. "Oy, Shinji. Go and call Hiyori up here or something."

He smelled so much like two people, Jenka had to resist the temptation to look around and make sure there wasn't someone hiding in his shadow. But no, he was acting like two people, too. She'd never seen this much fighting done with this little movement, but fighting it undeniably was.

It would have made her curious even if it didn't remind her of something.

The Jäger stepped closer without thinking, more to smell and feel the thing than to talk to the human. She only spoke when her mind caught up with her instinct. "Vot hyu lookink for?"

Another one? This wasn't the green one, or the one who spoke to him over the network. This was a girl Jägermonster. Man, how many Jägers were on this ship, anyhow?

"Infirmary," Ichigo replied, mastering his surprise and fighting back another power-surge from the hollow.

It thought she looked strong. It wanted to fight her. Ichigo crushed it back down, teeth pressed together so hard they ached. No.

Jägers were, for various reasons, mostly male. But if the redhead was heading to the infirmary, he'd meet another surprise. Jenka wasn't sure how Gkika would feel about this newcomer, but as for herself, she was pleased to have him.

She'd only fought one of them, and would gladly try more. This one certainly seemed like he needed a fight, and a voluntary one if he could help it.

"Hyu dun smell dot injured." No, he only smelled as if he wanted to injure himself enough to require a hospital bed for the next month. Jenka, attuned to violence as she was, knew very well who was in the infirmary right now, and had a good idea why. "Vot hyu vant vith dem?"

He couldn't help feeling surprised. Ichigo told himself that she was probably just aware of who was in the infirmary, and Jägers had an incredible sense of smell.

"I know them," Ichigo said with a shrug. "Figured I'd drop in and say hi," he lied through his teeth. He was getting used to this secrecy thing. It wasn't that hard.

"You're pretty perceptive," he said with a smile -- the fake smile he wore when he was particularly tense.

*gonna assume for later, after the infirmary? =3;;;* birdsundveasels January 25 2010, 21:18:04 UTC
Oggie was up on the deck enjoying the breeze and the open space when footsteps and an unfamiliar scent carried to him. He turned to look. Ya, he's new. Oggie had never seen quite that color of orange in a human's hair.

Oggie frowned as he realized he was scenting . . . two people? Or two scents coming of one person? Okay, this warranted investigation. Even a Jaeger of his relative simplicity couldn't miss something like that.

Proooobably going to say before -- he's having trouble finding the infirmary I guess flight_15 January 26 2010, 17:40:30 UTC
Ichigo had lost count of the number of Jägers on this ship. They were supposed to be really rare, weren't they? Did they all just live on this random pirate ship?

He continued walking -- if Oggie didn't talk to him, Ichigo wouldn't strike up a conversation. He wasn't exactly in an outgoing mood.

This was going to be a problem, he realized. He'd learned the names and faces of most of the people on the Winding Way, but now he was starting fresh with tons more to learn. Great.

No problem! =D LOL poor guy... birdsundveasels January 31 2010, 20:50:05 UTC
"Oy. Hyu schmell fonny." Normally, a comment like that would have been an insult. Oggie, even for - especially for - a Jaeger, wasn't exactly normal and thought nothing of the wording of his observation. Well, it was true, wasn't it? "Hyu schmell like Hiyori und sum of de others. Hyu vith dem?"

Oh, wait. If this guy was new, he was going about things kinda backwards, wasn't he? "By de vay, name's Oggie." He offered a grin and his big, clawed hand.

Ichigo was about to shoot right back that Oggie wasn't a basket of flowers himself, but the second comment stopped him. Best to agree here -- it sounded like the Jäger was referring to the other ones like him on this ship, the ones he needed to find. "That's right," he said casually, taking Oggie's hand in his smaller, sword-calloused one. "I'm Kurosaki," he said by way of introduction.

Wouldn't hurt to be friendly with the Jägers, he supposed, especially since they could smell his hollow. And even under normal circumstances, they weren't the sort of people you pissed off.
