Just a lowly mechanic looking for a good time =3;;; flyfrommyself January 9 2010, 18:38:25 UTC
((OOC: Yami's dressed like this [ http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp345/DragonDancer5150/LiveJournal%20Pix/?action=view¤t=46-10-Yami_Steps_Up.jpg ] 'Yami' is a simple mechanic and fighter pilot, so he "wouldn't" own anything /too/ nice...so he didn't bring anything better than dressy-casual. The shirt is long-sleeved and the vest reaches just past his hips, with a pocket on each side. Black slacks and nice black leather boots complete the look. He /does/ have the leather collar on, though [apparently they forgot to animate that into the episode. >,>], and his necklace is under his shirt))Yami slipped out of his room, hoping he didn't look as bad as he felt. He'd been awake for three days straight until dawn broke this morning, meditating, chanting, and generally making sure the gods-be-damned seal in his soul had held through the Long Night. Once he knew the danger was ( ... )

Rufus caught Yami's entrance almost immediately - that hair had always made him stand out in the crowd back in Bellcius, and it was no different here. The young man was looking a bit tired, but otherwise well, which was good - Rufus was no mage himself, but he'd heard enough to know that Long Night could be hell on those who were gifted.

He wandered over, ostensibly to greet this new guest, just as he had done for all of the others. "Yami, was it? Good you could make it." Polite, distant - the words of someone talking to a near-stranger, particularly given the apparent difference in social standing. The smile he gave Yami told a different story, however - friendly, genuine, and maybe just a little mischievous. The little acting game they were going to have to play made things just a little more interesting.

Yami turned and grinned, starting to offer his hand . . . but caught himself, giving Rufus as small bow instead - a more fitting gesture, just as he'd been given so many times by people of similar station. "Mr. Shinra, yes." He straightened and looked up, the sparkle in his eye and slight curve of the lips matching Rufus's. "Thank you. I wasn't sure if this was by invitation only, or if it was open to the crew as well."

Rufus inclined his head slightly - in a way, returning the bow. "It would be a rather small party if I did that, I think. No, things are more interesting with an open invitation, I think." He wanted to know the members of the crew as much as the other passengers - they were almost more important to know, on a ship.

[OOC: Ezio is wearing his usual white, red, and leather with fancy gold embroidery and a bit of lace. He also has his hood down.]

There was little chance Ezio was going to miss a party like this. The only person who had recognized him so far had been convinced not to go shouting his name and profession to the crew or the authorities. It was a few minutes after the appointed time when Ezio arrived, fashionably late.

There were already quite a few people at the party, some Ezio recognized, some he didn't. It was a shame he hadn't had anything that would make a suitable gift to the host of the occasion, but it was short notice. The food laid out wasn't what Ezio would have expected of a party back home, but they were on a ship. As long as there were women around, though, Ezio had little to complain about.

Another newcomer - and one who was totally unfamiliar to Rufus at that. He wove his way through the handful of people who'd already arrived to greet the man. He was well-dressed - definitely some money there - but if he was from Bellcius, he moved in different circles than Rufus. He gave the man a polite smile. "Welcome."

"This is quite the party," Ezio said, also giving a polite smile. "I'm Ezio. Ezio de Firenze," Using the fake name was an irritation, but it was necessary. There was no telling how people might react if they recognized his real name.

Rufus offered him a hand to shake. "Rufus Shinra. I hope you enjoy yourself - it seemed like people needed an excuse to relax a little." And perhaps size up their opponents - but that was a sentiment better left unsaid.
