Operation: Plane Retrieval!

Jan 04, 2010 20:45

Characters: Nena Trinity, Justin Warrick, Yami, Ryuuken Ishida
Content: Now that the location has been discovered, it's time to retrieve the Silvana's stolen plane. And maybe rescue a dying murderer on the side.
Setting: A throughly bombed settlement, South East of Garrettstown.
Time: Midday, a day after this post. Before the Long Night.
Warnings: Morbidity with a chance of Crazy.

Food had run out over a week ago, with no edible things in sight. The sporadic snowfall had thankfully left her with enough to drink, and she'd saved whatever she could with the water containers brought along. It had kept her going and eventually even seemed to stop the hunger. It only occurred to her when she couldn't stand up without a struggle anymore, that maybe the lack of hunger was a bad sign, rather than good.

At least the petrol hadn't run out until after she reached the last spot on her tour. Visiting all the places Nena remembered how to reach left her fully able to appreciate the mass destruction she'd caused. It had been so different, actually walking amongst the carnage, rather than viewing it dispassionately from the sky. the overwhelming sense of death... even the monsters seemed to stay away from those areas. Like they'd sensed that, whatever had caused it, it was the greater monster by far... And that they were screwed it they tried sticking around. She guessed that it was the same line of thought keeping most of the people from rebuilding. That... those places were unimportant in the first place, and most definitely not worth the risk of a second attack.

To walk through the rubble and start to realize that... What if all the bloodshed hadn't been contributing to a more peaceful continent like they'd always said? Certainly, no more fighting occurred in places not rebuilt... if only because everyone was gone. Their lives still might not have been important or anything, but it didn't make their deaths necessary, either!

She hadn't planned on living after making that post. She gave up, and hoped to slip away quietly in her sleep. Painlessly, which was more than she deserved, but...

Then came that response. The second one, one that told her not to give up, but to live. She hadn't been able to figure it out - why did a complete stranger, one who hadn't even seen the cutesy act, why did they want her, a... a mass-murderer, a monster, to live? Why? They'd even insisted that it wasn't her fault but... that was stupid. Of course it was. She was the one who'd pulled the trigger. She'd even enjoyed it, 'cleansing' the continent like that. But the voice... It was really persistent. And so uncharacteristically, she decided to listen for once and do as she was told. Calm down, turn the radio on in the plane and stay awake. It wasn't... out a desire to live, or anything like that. Just... just to meet and understand how somebody could possibly be so stupid. Once that was done, she'd let go. But until that moment came, she would rest underneath her plane and wait.
