Well, this was certainly something new. While the Brave Vesperia was something, Yosuke had to admit that this... Wild Geese sure was something else altogether. He had to say, seeing the base of a real mercenary crew was quite the thing - even if the place was rundown. And didn't look that all safe. And looked like it could possibly collapse at any given moment, as he walked around the place and scanned the area.

...okay, so maybe this place wasn't as cool as he had first thought, but this was pretty much where they were going to stay until they had a course of action to take on this whole... thing. With Souji gone, Yosuke found himself at quite a loss on what to do; all of this happened far too fast, he barely had time to try and grasp with the situation and now he was here...

Well, it wasn't as if he could go anywhere else anyway. As he had so eloquently overheard, half the continent was on their asses now, because the captain got captured. Not that he did like this one bit, but what was he to do?

The place really didn't look safe. Justin would be worried about that, if he wasn't busy being terrified of the people, and the situation, and, well, everything. He hadn't even managed to learn the faces of all his crewmates before they went and mixed with a whole new batch of strangers. Where he grew up, strangers only appeared in small, well-contained groups. All of his sociology reading aside, he was not prepared for this.

Much like he hadn't been prepared for essentially everything else that had happened to him over the last sixteen months. By now he was, at least, fairly good at keeping his panic on the inside and maintaining the expression and demeanor of someone who, despite a fair amount of unease, knew what they were doing, or at least had some idea of how to find out.
(Or maybe he was getting closer to knowing what he was doing out here. How the hell did you tell ( ... )

Yosuke turned around at the call from the other, blinking as he noticed his fellow crew member... or at least, he was somewhat sure that he was a member on the Fiertia. He was pretty sure he had seen him somewhere before... then again, it could just have been his memory deciding to play tricks on him; it really was an annoying thing these days. Hard to remember when so many things decided to happen all in one go.

"Oh, hey," he greeted back with a smile, one hand moving up idly to finger the headphones around his neck. "You one of the Wild Geese?"

"Oh, no. I just joined the Fiertia recently," he explained, adding with a self-deprecating laugh: "and I've mostly been hiding in the records room." No wonder some of the crew still had no idea who he was. He had made some effort to meet everyone, but there were far too many of them to get to know all at once. (Well, to get to know in person. He was familiar enough with all their documentation, but there wasn't always much, and he wouldn't assume it was all true.)

"You're on the Fiertia too, then?" He extended his hand. "I'm Justin."

The faces he had come to be familiar with for the past year on the Fiertia mingling with the faces from those of the Wild Geese...the chemistry between them was interesting. Sebastian watched languidly below him from where he stood on a small balcony, Lilith balancing elegantly on the railing. He raised a gloved hand to stroke over her back, chuckling.

"How quaint. I had never imagined the Wild Geese would have such a wide range of abilities and people. Pip certainly must have some sort of appeal to them, if all these sorts of differences have come together."

Lilith meowed, spreading her jaws in a gaping yawn. He gave her a small smile before going back to observing, his sharp eyes taking in the appearance of each and every member of the Wild Geese. Even at a time like this, he was doing reconnaissance for his Young Master.

In that same moment, Pip Bernadette, the infamous leader of the same mercenary crew that Sebastian happened to be observing on, was currently going down the hallway as normally as he could while trying his best to be not too exasperated by the younger man that was following him from behind and muttering a language that sounded quite foreign - though from Pip's response, it seemed like the man had no trouble understanding it.

"...I already told you, Léon, I'm fine. Zere's no need to keep on henpeckin' on me," the brunette went as he gave the other man beside him a glance. Léon, however, didn't seem deterred by this and only continued on with his rambling, saying something that apparently caused Pip to look vaguely uncomfortable (or at least, more exasperated than he had been just moments earlier) as they turned around the corner, his somewhat weary voice audible down the hallway. "No no no, you don't need to do anyzing like zat - I haven't completed my mission yet, and we're just bunkin' here until ( ... )

Pip and Léon had been loud enough for anyone to realize they were coming down the hallway. It was probably at that time that Sebastian should have left, but of course thinking that the two would soon pass, he stayed where he was, gazing out over the horizon. Tranquility. It was something that most demons would find undesirable, but after recent events, even he could appreciate it, especially if it was spent with Lilith. He absentmindedly scooped his little kitten up, cradling her in his arms.

He was going indulge himself in a paw pad petting session for the rest of the afternoon, listening to her purrs and--

Well. Of course it would be interrupted. Immediately the rare content expression on his face disappeared as any chance for his supposedly quiet afternoon was shattered. Glancing behind him, he gave the two Wild Geese men a smile half-way between pleasant and frigid. Even Lilith was tense in his arms.

He was now in a rather bad mood, so he could be cruel. But somehow the idea of seeing Pip in an awkward host mode satiated the ( ... )

...why did he have this feeling that he was (once again) asking for more than he could chew on? The look on Sebastian's face wasn't helping much on that either, but Pip had went though worse and it was really a very usual thing for him to look completely alright even though he was shaking in his boots somewhat.

Which was what he was doing now, of course, as he gave a sheepish grin and rubbed the back of his neck before turning to Léon. "Well, looks like I'm busy now! You'll have to come and find me later - I did promise to give Sebastian 'ere a tour of zis place." His other hand raised up in a mock salute, before waving his crew mate off towards the other direction. "I'll talk with you later, so do me a favour and go help with ze others down at ze shooting range. If Jacques asks, just say I sent you zere. Now off you go, mate ( ... )

Yeah. Walter was being predictable but at this point he hardly even cared. it had been a while and Pip was headed there so it had to be worth it, of course. Not to mention that small part of him missed everyone.

However, perhaps it had been too long. He'd forgotten how run-down it had been. In all fairness to himself, he realized the point of view of rundown might have changed since that mansion he came from. Dammnit.

Walter walked around on his own for now, saying his "Hello"'s to those he had missed.

Pip supposed he could easily make up a reason as to why the Geese were notably louder than usual; for one it wasn't everyday where fellow mercenary crews could rub shoulders with one another (even if Pip had to agree that the Brave Vesperia was somewhat odd - then again, so was Yuri) and for another... well, he did suppose having more than just one familiar face in the crowd was another possible reason as to why there was such a ruckus.

On his own again, the man had been strolling around the place, generally making sure everyone in the crew (both of them) were fine and well and being the captain-y person that he was, despite his claims of trying not to be one. It was during then he saw the kid again, and he grinned as he approached the youngster. "Enjoyin' ze visit back to base, kid?"

"I forgot how lively everyone was." He almost smiled, glancing around again. It really was nice to be back. It was rundown, sure, but the energy, positive energy to be specific, was much better than that mansion. He closed his eyes before taking out a cigarette to light up and have a drag.

"Never thought I'd be back so soon after reuniting with you though. Fate is sodding unpredictable." He grinned and opened his eyes again. "I did miss it, after all."

The man grinned at those words ruefully. "Heh. If anyzing, I didn't expect myself to 'ave to bring ze whole ship here as well." The idea had came to him in a spur of the moment to be honest, but he had to admit that it was nice, being back here. Even if the circumstances that had brought him back here was something that he didn't ever want to go through a second time (despite the fact that he was pretty sure it would happen again sooner or later).

He paused to let Walter have a drag of his own cigarette before he spoke up again. "Your room's still free, if you're interested to know." It hadn't seem right to let anybody else in there, after he left - the kid was really one-of-a-kind, and Pip doubted that he'd ever get a chance to meet anyone like him again.

The fact that Justin had only heard about the Wild Geese from the drug-jumbled memories of a few variously disturbed patients who'd encountered them in more or less unpleasant circumstances did not help him feel at home, Pip's friendly invitation notwithstanding. Oh, he didn't think they were bad people, or anything like that - the surroundings he'd grown up in hardly allowed him to look down on mercenaries. ("If you don't do it, sweet, someone else will, and a worse job of it.") Just... dangerous, and a little unpredictable. ("You better learn to predict them, then, hmm?" - Ari's voice run endless commentary in his head until he forced the memories of her training back under the surface where they belonged).

Not that his knowledge of the Brave Vesperia was any more comforting, but he'd managed not to dwell on it in the confusion of getting a new job and a new home (and finally getting the hell out of Bellcius). It was back with a vengeance now. It was all he could do to try not to see his crewmates and Pip Bernardette's people ( ... )
