"Iris."

Had it really been five years? Dahlia hadn't really taken much notice but, then again, she wasn't as excited to see her sister again as Iris was. To each their own, and what not.

But it was sad that, even then, she still had to put up some appearances. Dahlia knew that if she did not occasionally treat Iris kindly and sisterly, it would backfire on her horribly. And, in her situation, her life, she couldn't afford not having a handy-dandy body double.

So, when she found her sister, she gave her a smile and extended her arms for a hug, regardless of the fact that she hadn't let loose of her parasol. "It's good to see you again, sister."

The invitation for the hug was happily accepted, as Iris embraced her sister. For five years, she couldn't do this! It was hard to find the words to describe how happy Iris was.

Iris wasn't entirely stupid though; she knew Dahlia was not as kind as she seemed and made sure not to hug her too long, pulling away with a smile on her face. This was enough, really; knowing that Dahlia had some humanity left in her to at least be kind to her own blood.

"How have you been?" Iris looked around, just to make sure none of her fellow crewmates were walking. According to what Iris told the authorities, Dahlia Hawthorne was dead and should remain so.

Ah, there they go. Dahlia wasn't about to admit that the hug hurt the wound on her hip a bit, though. Stretching in general hurt, which reminded her...

"I've been better," she answered easily as she played idly with her own hair. "But this isn't the place for talking. Let's find someplace to stay for now. If one of the crew, either one, sees us together, I'm as good as dead." Dahlia took Iris' hand into hers' and motioned for the two of them to get moving.

As much as she would love to hit an expensive hotel that knew how to treat a lady, she knew she couldn't have that. Besides, it was always the sketchier ones that turned the other direction if they saw the two of them together.

"Right, right," Iris nodded, happily following her sister. They made a peculiar pair, she imagined, but the citizens of this town looked like they had better things to do. With that peace treaty and all... it was actually a secondary blessing for the two sisters.

She watched Dahlia move curiously though, noticing that there seemed to be a new stitch in Dahlia's dress. Well, not like Iris had seen that dress in five years, but she could tell that it wasn't part of the dress itself.

"... Dahlia, what happened?" Iris didn't bother masking the concern from her voice. Perhaps it was just an accident with her dress, but when it came to Dahlia, even the most minor of "accidents" had a tragic story behind them.
