Yet another day with no information on the prince. von Karma was getting seriously annoyed with the incompetence of the government, but there wasn't anything he could do about it.

...well.

He could always take matters into his own-

...

Something hit him on the head.

What the hell was that. He almost looked up, but considering he only had one good eye...

"Whoever you are... stop that," he snarled, loudly enough that whoever it was would probably be able to hear him.

Kimbley perked up at the sound of someone complaining. His amber eyes glanced down at the man below him and a wide grin set on his face. His free hand tapped at the railing. Considering almost. What luck. It was the admiral himself! Never had he really seen him before, but it was no doubt him, from the descriptions he had been given before. Plus, that was surely his voice. There was no doubt, having heard it previously on the network numerous times, complaining and so on.

He grabbed one of the seeds, a larger one and tossed it up and down as it started to hiss and almost 'scream' with heat before with a swift movement of his arm and wrist, he threw the seed down in his direction, letting it explode next to his ear, beside his blind eye.

von Karma's good eye widened slightly as he heard the small explosion; he did not jump, but he did step back slightly.

"Are you trying to get yourself thrown in the brig?" he snapped, continuing to step back so he could actually get a look at the person.

Kimbley chuckled and crossed his arms over the railing and let the bag of seeds rest against his chest. His arrayed palms' glow toned down until they disappeared and he gave a cheerful wave, his eyes closed in a equally content smile, pearly whites visible.

"I don't think I'd be left for long inside the brig, Admiral, unless you have some insurance on the ship." Kimbley even lifted his hands to show emphasis on what he meant by that statement. He wouldn't hesitate to blow up a part of the ship, even if it was frowned upon the admiral. He didn't care who objected to the idea. If they wanted to restrict him, like they did in the prison, Kimbley wasn't going to let that happen. Not again.

After that rather embarrassing situation in his cabin, Hijikata found himself being somewhat forced to get out of his quarters even though he wanted to stay there and do his work. But he had to do this, if he wanted to be free from a rappig that had been trying to smother him for the past fifteen minutes or so. Honestly, he really had to wonder if the damned animal was smarter than it look - he knew he had been neglecting it a bit due to recent events, but seriously...

...well at any rate, it wasn't like he wasn't solving this issue now - the rappig was snorting quite happily as it trotted alongside him, running out into the winter air once they were nearing the deck. The boatswain kept an eye on the thing as he idly fished out a cigarette and lit it up with his lighter, keeping both it as well as the cigarette pack back into his jacket and made his way to the railing, leaning against it as he took a well-needed smoke.

Kimbley caught sight of movement from the corner of his eye, and those sharp amber eyes of his snapped to the side in their sockets. His head stayed perfectly still. Oh what were the odds! Major Toushirou yet again. The living walking, almost, twin of Roy Mustang. Even though the man denied it, Kimbley had been fighting far too long beside Roy to be mistaken.

He soon turned his head down the railing and adjusted himself so his side rested against the railing, his hand reaching into the bag of seeds and he reached down with the handful of seeds, offering it to the rappig as he closed his eyes contentedly.

"So, this is what you've had your hands full with, Major."

Hijikata tried his best to ignore the alchemist. He really did, but then it was just about next to impossible to ignore someone who the rappig squealed quite suddenly at and scrambled around in order to hide behind the legs of it's owner. The boatswain tried his best not to look too annoyed as he directed his gaze towards Kimbley, blue eyes narrowing as he subtly nudged the rappig away from his legs (to little success).

"Not exactly," came the (carefully neutral) response through the puff of cigarette smoke, scowling as he pushed back against the rappig that was seemingly determined not to leave him and also trying to trip him in the process, if it wasn't for the fact that he was currently using the railing as a support to prevent such a thing from happening.

Kimbley's content face didn't falter as the rappig scrambled away from him. Perhaps even animals even knew about him. Either that or they smelled the old stench of the blood that was once stained upon him. The alchemist didn't car either way as he stood up straight and deposited the seeds back into the bag.

"Isn't it a bit of a hassle to have a pet aboard a military vessel? Please, do tell me that you put your duties before this... pig's own." Oh aha. He made a funny. He let a small chuckle escape as he glanced up at the rappig's owner.

After a rather longer stint of guarding their prisoner than he would have liked, Major Vole clambered up the ladder to the top deck of the Victoria II for his first breath of fresh air that day. He knew why he'd been assigned to the job--he was quite possibly the strongest member of the crew, physically--but not being able to torture the prisoner took all of the joy out of it. What was the point of it if you couldn't break a few limbs, after all?

Having resigned himself to another boring but at least routine day, Vole raised his eyebrows curiously at the sight of the sunflower seeds bursting apart in mid-air. Though his face still wore its usual scowl, he was interested in finding out what was behind the small explosions. Striding up to the railing, he stared for a little while longer, then asked in a booming voice, "Hyu gots zome kind of magic going on dere?"

The loud boom of his voice made Kimbely's eyes widen in surprise, but other than that he didn't flinch. The loudness of his voice reminded him of another soldier he once knew. But that was all in that past right? He settled himself down and relaxed his shoulders to glance casually to the Major, smiling cheerfully as he tossed another in the air, as if showing him even more of a demonstration.

"It's called alchemy." Kimbley said, coolly with pride as he flicked another seed into the air, with the top of his thumb. "Not many people use it all too much, but, when they do, it's quite the show."

"Yez," Vole said slowly, stroking his chin with one gargantuan hand as he thought, "dot it iz." The wheels in his head might turn slowly, but turn they did. Something like this alchemy might be useful in conquering Mechanicsburg and the rest of the Badlands, and bringing it under the control of Ivona, where it belonged. "Can hyu take out a city vith it, or iz just for leedle tings like dem seeds?"

Kimbley almost looked dreamily up at the sky, resting his chin in his hand and sighed rather heavily as his other hand toyed with the seeds in the bag. "Oh yes. I could blow up an entire city, or even a living being, if given something to amplify my alchemy. But for now, I can make explosions with anything as big as your head to as small as these seeds here."

He started out talking like it was all a childish dream. Like a young boy growing up to be a great king. In this case, it was Kimbley's joy of all the killings he could do with the Philosopher's Stone.

Celes walked onto the and took a deep breath allowing the fresh air to slowly filter through her lungs. How anyone could ever, voluntarily, choose to remain cooped up in a tiny, little room was beyond her. Give her the fresh air and open skies any day.

As she was flexing her fingers she noticed a dark haired man at the edge of deck. It appeared as if he were throwing some things off the side. Curiosity peaked, but not wanting to approach him, she leaned over the edge to see what was going on.

What would possess someone to shoot fireworks off the side of a military ship and in the middle of the day?

Kimbley didn't pay much mind to whoever was nearby. His eyes focused, rather, on the exploding seeds. An observer could see the explosions reflected in the man's eyes. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, watching the small show. It was almost like a musical to him. Characters being tossed out on stage only to have their last solo before fading away from the stage after a brilliant finale. This is one of the reasons why Kimbley wasn't invited to go to such things. He only liked the loud songs anyways.

She looked at the man with curiosity. He was captivated by these explosions. Not a passionate person herself, Celes was intrigued. She always wondered how anyone could do things without any real rhyme or reason behind them.

“Are you authorized to shoot fireworks off the deck?” she asked, as her eyes darted between the explosions and Kimbley's face.

Kimbley smiled sweetly as he heard the woman's voice. He had to take a different approach when it came to women. They were more scared by his mannerisms and just, him in general and tended to run off before men did. He turned towards her and smiled a little wider, more gentle.

"Fireworks? Oh no, these are sunflower seeds. they do look like fireworks, don't they?"
