The first thing Ness noticed was that he was on some cold, uncomfortable surface. At first, he thought little of it - his mind was still hazy from the effects of the chloroform. But after a moment, things started to clear. This wasn't his bed, or even his room. Immediately, he sat up and rubbed his eyes to rid them of bleariness before looking around the room, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings.

"Where...?"

He had no idea where he was. This was obviously not the Winding Way, or anywhere near the town they were just in. He tried to recall the events of the previous night, but all he could remember was going to bed like he usually did. It was then he realized he wasn't alone. Several of his crew mates were also here with him.

A small, but welcome comfort to him. At least he wasn't by himself.

Haruhi, meanwhile, was already up and about. She was currently jumping up and down, trying to get a better glance out of the small window.

"Damn it," she said as her feet hit the ground again, "I can barely see anything! Nothing useful, anyway."

She turned when she heard someone else stir. "Oh," was the first thing out of her mouth when she saw that it was Ness of all people who had woken up. That sucked.

"I don't know where, so don't bother asking." She sat down on the floor with a sigh, giving up her jumping jacks for now. "Do you have any idea what happened? My mind is fuzzy. Arrg, this is so annoying!" She let out a sound of frustration and pulled on the ends of her hair until they slid out of her fingertips. Greasy. Man, when was the last time she had bathed?!

Sophie had also been awake for quite a while, having never been knocked out in the first place (though they had taken care to blindfold her in the castle), but she had dozed off while waiting for the others to wake up. It wasn't as if she had gotten much sleep the night before, after all.

Other people stirring and talking brought her slowly about again. Sitting up straighter in the spindly chair, she stretched, the knots in her back making her feel like she was about eighty. Combined with the fact that she was still only in her flannel pajamas and flannel dressing gown, Sophie wasn't feeling very rested. "You guys are awake," she stated blearily, realizing the inanity of this as soon as it came out of her mouth.

"We were kidnapped," Sophie informed Haruhi and Ness bluntly.

There were people talking, Tohru realized, blearily, though she was still too far asleep to register just what they were saying.

Why were there people talking in her bedroom?

If it came to that, when had her bed got this uncomfortable?

Tohru opened her eyes.

Definitely not her bedroom. Wherever this was, it wasn't anywhere she recognized. "Where are we?" she asked sleepily, sitting up and looking around, blinking in confusion.
