Normally Atsuro would be either in the radio room or in his cabin on board the Fiertia right now, but he'd been making modifications to his radio and realised belatedly that he was missing a capacitor. He'd searched around the radio room and his cabin, but he couldn't find it. He'd probably misplaced it or lost it, but man, he really wanted to test the mods by tonight! Helping out with the rockfall had been pretty tough and tiring (thankfully it hadn't been as bad as he imagined it could've been), so he'd opted for rest over working on modifying electric circuits for a couple of days.

So here he was in unfamiliar Tulgim, looking for shop he could by the capacitor (and some other parts while he was there). Atsuro was so intent on finding a shop, he didn't recognise Yosuke when he looked past him.

And there was the other tell-tale sign Yosuke was hiding something. "Man, Yosuke. You aren't hiding stuff from me, are you? Uho!" Atsuro's face became the picture of realisation. "Don't tell me you got a sweetheart since the last time I saw you!"

Atsuro was mostly joking, but it'd be a pretty good explanation to why Yosuke wasn't with his family and why he seemed so evasive on some topics. Well, in Atsuro's opinion, anyway. Giving Yosuke a light elbowing, he continued with a grin, "I won't tell. Your secret is safe with me!"

Had that question been directed at him maybe about a year or so earlier, Yosuke would have only laughed and quite easily shrugged it off. Now though, the reaction he had to that was something quite different entirely. Yosuke only did a double take as a instintive defensive shout of 'N-No!' came out from him before he could stop himself, the expression on his face very much like the kid who had been caught with his hand in the metamorphical cookie jar. Little did Atsuro know that he had almost (almost) quite gotten it right - well, minus the fact that said 'sweetheart' turned out to hate him behind his back and had already died ( ... )

Atsuro just laughed at Yosuke's response. Yeah, Yosuke definitely had someone. But never let it be said that Atsuro wasn't a nice guy; he wouldn't blab about Yosuke's little secret.

Grinning widely with a knowing smile, like he was having a private joke that Yosuke wasn't privy to, Atsuro said, "There's the good ol' Yosuke I know. Seriously, though," his expression turning slightly more thoughtful, "I didn't think you'd have thought so far ahead. Man, what would I do?"

Much too relieved himself to not notice that one look on Atsuro's face, the brunette merely allowed himself to let out a private sigh of relief now that the apparent crisis had been averted. Still, he had a feeling this was all going to come back to bite him in the butt someday... but well, that could come for later. The now was much more important, after all.

Grinning slightly at the pondering of his friend, Yosuke only let out a chuckle as he went to sling one arm around the other's neck. "Well for starters... you can be my best man! Or maybe the guy who does all the backstage planning too. I've heard they can cost a bomb."

Atsuro didn't object to the friendly gesture, even though man, did Yosuke get heavier or something? Hand automatically reaching up to straighten his hat, Atsuro replied, "No, that's not what I- No, nevermind."

He didn't really want to think about the future and relationships. For all his teasing, he couldn't imagine himself in a relationship, let alone anything more than that. He'd take a day chilling with friends or messing with journal components over a date, any day! Besides, relationships with girls were things that happened to other people, not him.

Picking up where he left off, Atsuro continued, "Best man and backstage planning? I'll just take one, thanks."

Laughing just a bit at that (he really couldn't help it - Atsuro's reactions were just kind of priceless), Yosuke grinned a little wider as he gave his friend a gentle nudge with his arm around him. "Hey, there's no harm in thinking about the future, right? You should try it out one day when you're finally bored from the Network." Even though he was a pretty frequent user of the journals himself now, Yosuke still really couldn't quite understand just what was it about the network that had Atsuro so hooked. Sure it was pretty neat and great to use but... it was just people doing random stuff up there. Nothing too interesting. He guessed it was just an Atsuro thing ( ... )

Pft, him, get bored of the Network? Atsuro doubted that. "Nah, I'll pass." Besides, girls weren't interested in nerds... "The Network's way too interesting."

If Atsuro had to be honest, being Yosuke's best man sounded like it'd be kind of cool. But... yeah, maybe Yosuke was right. He'd probably be better at backstage planning.

As they were walking, Atsuro paused in front of a promising looking shop. "Hey, do you mind waiting for a bit? I just want to get some stuff from here. Unless," Atsuro's voice took on a more joking around tone, "you want to be buried in diodes."

goddamn you LJ. Goddamn you. secondarcana December 11 2009, 11:08:47 UTC
Yosuke only let the expression on his face turn into one of slight disappointment at those words, though it was clear enough to see that he really wasn't that all affected by the answer. "Seriously? You're totally gonna regret it sooner or later, you know. Don't come crying to me when you do." Of course, he would help him if he ever did that - not that he thought Atsuro would be the kind of guy to be like that, anyway. It was just a thought.

The brunette paused in his steps along with his friend, one eye gazing at the shop they had stopped in front of curiously before turning over to Atsuro, the look on his face quickly turning sour at the question. "Ungh, no thanks." Like hell he would want to be faced with all those geeky electronic gadgets, as useful as they were; he could never understand the liking that his friend had for them.
