It took a bit longer than expected before Pip had arrived, unfortunately - the quartermaster had been a bit busy trying to tak out most of the equipment that was attached to him almost twenty-four seven. After all, if he was going to help Mion with carrying her stuff all his own stuff would simply get in the way. And it wouldn't be too gentlemanly of him if he was doing something as disruptive as that.

(Of course, that didn't mean he was going to leave himself wholly undefended - he still had the combat knife in his boot, along with a pistol that was inside his coat.)

Once he had finally managed to get himself prepared, the man hurried out to the front of the Fiertia where the girl had been rather eagerly waiting for him. An apologetic look crossed his face as he approached her.

"Sorry 'botu ze delay, Mion," the brunette went the moment they were in hearing distance. "Looks like gettin' myself ready took a bit more 'ime zen expected."

In the time it took for Pip to arrive, Shion had let her mind dither from the captain, to the upcoming races, and then to the captain again. With this to keep her preoccupied, she barely noticed the amount of time that passed before she caught the sound of footsteps. Turning to face the other, her heels clicking lightly with her movement, she gave a small wave as greeting.

"Hey, don't worry about it!" she reassured, giving him a warm smile. "You're here now, and that's what matters."

Giving him a small wink, she shifted in the direction of the make-shift market's hubbub. "So, you ready?" She glanced back over her shoulder at him, awaiting his response.

Pip only grinned brightly in response, looking as chipper as ever and quickly recovering from that minor slip-up. So long as the girl was fine with it, then he wasn't going to dwaddle on that issue any longer and get to what he was here for.

"Course I am," he replied, grin easing into a smirk as he idly adjusted the hat on his head. "Ready as a man can ever be now, Mion."

A gentleman always had to be prepared, after all.

"Wonderful! Knew that I could count on you."

With that said, Shion proceeded on, making her way through the crowd of people strolling to and from the area. "It's pretty cool, isn't it?" she stated, mildly. "How this entire market just sprung up for the races?"

As she spoke, she began to head towards the nearest store offering a broad selection of clothes. It never hurt to purchase some extra outfits.
