Said sub-lieutenant paused with the lees of a cargo box's contents half-crushed in his fist, twisted metal and shards of some petty equipment or other already littering the floor around him in a wide radius. It was a good thing everyone was wearing shoes.

"... Aaa~?" Anyone who knew him could tell the tone was dangerous--but the real indicator was his hands, which very deliberately replaced the bit of scrap on the floor as he straightened and peered over his shoulder, through his sunglasses. "What was that?"

Tatiana did not hesitate at all or flinch at his gaze as Kongou was no doubt expecting. Instead she strode right up to him, ignoring the refuse littering the floor, and pointed her finger right into his face.

"You've got a lot of nerve complaining about other people's performance when you're off ignoring orders to do crazed diving runs," she bit out.

His lip curled; he turned faster than a blink and grabbed her wrist, forcing it around so that she was roughly pointing in the other direction.

"I don't see that those fucking orders got us any crashed and burned pirate ships in the end," he remarked, voice still apparently normal but with a hint of a growl now--this trashy pilot was beneath his notice, but he did need something to take things out on just now. Properly. "So I'd say if you're talking performance, that's a losing field for you, Wisla."

Tatiana wrenched her wrist out of his grip, refusing to give even an inch. "And I don't see you ignoring the orders doing that either," she said, staring him down. "I didn't see you accomplishing anything but making us all look like idiots."

Staring down Agon was like trying to stare down paint drying on a wall. Idiots could do it for hours at a time; at least it kept them happy, and him entertained, if he happened to have food and drink nearby. Maybe a lapdancer, too.

As it was, though, sunglasses did the job. And he wasn't in the mood, no matter how cute the creature ogling him happened to be. "You probably weren't close enough," a sneer, "considering how far down the trench you were sitting. Sure you weren't falling asleep down there?"

"Even if I had fallen asleep," Tatiana shot back, "I still would have managed to do more than you. The success of any mission depends on all elements working together in harmony, according to their orders. Ignoring orders and doing your own thing is the surest way to destroy any chance of success."

"I thought you went to the Academy," she said, throwing her arms up in disgust. "Didn't you learn anything there?"

He laughed, low and long. "I didn't hear any orders to the contrary while I was up there, little dog." Still grinning viciously, he picked up the scrap again, crushing it to powder with one hand and easily ignoring her for a long moment.

"That Academy," he told the scrap thoughtfully, "is the biggest pile of bullshit I have ever seen."
