First, the good news: Shinjiro wasn't in the kitchen at the moment.

Now for the bad news: there were still other cooks to contend with.

Not that that was much of a threat. At the moment, the only one nearby at the moment Hikari Glie, and she was far too busy to notice anyone sneak in. There were pots to scrub, other pots to fill, leftover scraps to either toss or save for another meal, and the beans...she didn't think she had seen so many beans in her entire life. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and, ignorant of Toshirou's sugar tooth cravings, continued her work.

Hitsugaya paused at the door peeking inside as he heard someone bustle about the kitchen. It wasn't Shinjiro, but that other cook Hikari, the girl with the wings. He was about to ask her if there was any sweets or tea when he saw how busy she was. Maybe if he helped her she'd be more inclined to let him take some tea or sweets from the kitchen.

Rolling up his sleeves he took up a scrub brush walked over to the large sink and started working. "Don't mind if I help for a bit do you?" He asked.

Her wings flicked out in surprise before she relaxed and turned towards Hitsugaya.

"Sorry, you started me," she said, with a sheepish smile. "Go right ahead."

And really, she could use the extra help. A ship's galley was a far cry from the bakery and the inn she worked at, and while she had improved since she first joined, sometimes the workload was too much for one person. Still, even though she appreciated the extra help, it was rather strange. Usually everyone besides the cooks steered clear of the kitchen.

Curious, she asked, "So what brings you down here Hitsugaya??"

"Sorry." He said before turning back to his work, there was a lot of it which suited him just fine. Hitsugaya liked work, sometimes became almost obsessed with getting it done. His brow furrowed slightly at her question and he took his time answering her question.

"Boredom mostly....and hunger." Lips twitching at the corners of his mouth as he kept from telling her about his sweet tooth.
