He was well on his way to the bookstore by the time he saw the man. Almost at the front, in fact, a mere few steps away from where the sign The House of Dion hung -- a little shabbier than the bookstore branch in Melior, and certainly a poor comparison to the Bellcius central building, but still very much a sign for the sort of quality and selection of books the bookstore stocked. But when he glimpsed that face that had become familiar to him from the repeated perusal of various interesting files and documents, Aizen smiled and changed direction slightly, angling his walk to intersect with the man's path.

It was not too difficult. Cao Cao was obviously distracted, and so it was the simplest of things for Aizen to casually brush against the man's shoulder as he walked past and drop the sandalwood tea chest he was carrying.

"Ah," a hasty exclamation, an adjustment of the glasses. "Excuse me. My apologies."

Far too focused in his thoughts, the strategist was easy prey for the other man who noticed him. Cao Cao could have sworn that the streets were empty of tourists but it seems that this man was not daunted by the thought of traveling these lonesome avenues alone. If Aizen wasn’t so quick to apologize, Cao Cao would have probably answered him with rudeness but instead he got a slightly friendly response instead.

“No need to apologize! It was my fault.” He replied with a faint grin. Judging by the pedestrian’s attire, he must have been a worker from one of those bookstores nearby. Those black thick framed glasses made Aizen look rather docile and the sloppy hair only added to the fiend’s passive appearance. It was because of the man’s attire that Cao Cao did not feel threatened at all despite being here in this awful little town.

“You are in no hurry are you? Solare doesn’t seem busy if you ask me.”

"Not exactly," he hedged. Aizen shook dust from his clothes, brushed it off the polished wood of the chest, and picked up a book -- a volume of contemporary poetry in the style currently in vogue in Bellcius and Melior -- that had just happened to fall out of his coat pocket. "A little distracted, I'm afraid. Again, I apologize. Apparently thoughts of literature tend to get in the way of one's errands."

Then he smiled, a pleasant, well-meaning scholar's smile, and extended a hand. "Still, it's a pleasure to run into a courteous man. Solare isn't busy by any stretch of the imagination, but there are still several places that are definitely worth visiting here." He nodded in the general direction of the bookstore. "I was on the way to one of them myself."
