Of course. Something like that would turn anyone off. Luckily the most Zhang He had to deal with was being partially ostracized from the first person he'd worked under in the military. Though Mengde had helped him tolerate that... enough of those thoughts Zhang He. He forced himself to get a hold of it and smiled.

"We may both get in trouble for a fight, be it our fault or not. Of course Tear wouldn't be pleased with either of us after it."

He took a sip of his own tea before smiling widely. "It's nice to know they try beautifully to make everything taste good on such a small budget," something like that to him was truly beautiful.

Luppi smiled in agreement.

"I know, but then again... if they make it taste good, people will come back.. and spend more money, so they can have a bigger budget."

It was common sense, really. And hey, the nice tea was enough to make him stop feeling that teeny weeny bit sorry for his friend in the love-life department. Still, at least his words confirmed that he was very, very gay. Not that there was much doubt on that subject.

"Perhaps it's because of the part of town it's in~. Sometimes things such as that make even a beautiful place fall!" It was nice to know tea was all it took to get Luppi out of feeling sorry mode.

"I do want to ask a favor of you, Luppi... if you don't mind that is."

Luppi raised his eyebrows at his companion. He then leaned with his elbow on the table and chin rested in his heavily-sleeved palm.

"Oh~? What's that?" He asked, smiling a little.

He knew better than to say 'sure!' before hearing what the details of the favour were. Backing out of such a thing after agreeing, even if you did so without knowing what it entailed, was never good form.

"Not mention this conversation to anyone. I get a hard enough time about how I act from the ship mates and Tear. The last thing I need is for such a thing to spread... I know it's suspected but confirming it would be much worse, you understand, right?" The entire time he was looking down at his salad. This would be horrible. Then again Luppi wouldn't tell anyone. He really hoped Luppi wouldn't.

With that he took another sip of his tea before moving the cup so the liquid swirled around, watching it absently.

Luppi blinked, straightening up a little. His eyebrows drew together in a bit of a frown and he looked at him.

"... as if I'd tell anybody." He said, trying to sound flippant and failing. "I don't exactly get along with many people on board the Silvana, so I'm hardly going to divulge the secrets of one of the very few people I like~." He smiled then.

"Besides! At least you haven't been mistaken for a girl." Unlike him. Augh.

So Luppi did enjoy his company. That was at least nice to know! "Thank you~." He really was more than pleased that Luppi wasn't going to tell anyone. Though the next thing made him laugh softly.

"Well I suppose it's hard to tell but your speech pattern is more masculine so it really wasn't that hard to figure out. It's just a matter of paying attention to detail!"

Luppi laughed at that.

"It's hard to tell, really? I wondered if people were just being facetious about it." He grinned a bit.

He didn't think he had a particularly masculine way of talking, but it was nice to know. Sadly, most people base their view of somebody entirely on looks, so a small detail like that was going to be lost on a lot of others.

Zhang He knew that feeling. He may never have been confused for a girl but his looks did count for something in the military during his brief time there.

"With half the crew we have it's easy to think so, isn't it? Others are just flat out rude and obnoxious." A small huff now and he drank more of that tea, having finished up his salad. "It's nice to relax every once in a while though."

Luppi sipped his tea slowly, looking amused.

"They are, you're right~. Especially Cirucci." He crinkled his nose as he said her name.

He knew her before they joined the Silvana, coincidentally ending up on the same ship. Out of all of the people on board, he easily considered her the most obnoxious. If you didn't count Aizen's abject gittishness, anyway.
