Setting: Deck of the Winding Way while it is being repaired in Bydan, may move elsewhere

Shiki also wanted to help as much as she could, in between taking a bit of time off the ship to herself. The ship had become her new home in the last few months and she wanted to see all of it restored to its previous self as soon as possible!

Still, there was only so much someone her age could do. And someone with her body type too apparently. She heard people say plenty of times that they didn't want her lifting anything heavy with the "twig like" arms she had. She supposed they meant well but... (and twiggy? Really?)

So now she sat out of everyone's way, wondering when there was something she could help with again.

Jean quickly took notice of Shiki. After all, the girl didn't seem to be doing much and was sitting by herself. This was a perfect opportunity to get to know her! With any luck, she wouldn't mind a little company.

So, with a bright smile, Jean approached the girl and asked, "Hey, mind if I have a seat?"

Shiki looked up and returned the smile. She didn't recognize the face but the voice sounded familiar. Someone she had spoken to over the network before perhaps?

"No, I don't mind at all! Go ahead!" she replied, making some room.

"Thanks!" With a faint, contented sigh, Jean took a seat beside Shiki, folding her long legs in front of her.

She also faintly recognized the girl's voice, though she could not place it with a name yet. But whoever it was, she seemed friendly, and that was always good. "Hey, did we speak on the journals before? Well, just in case we didn't, my name is Jean. I'm the new cook here!"
