Hachibei had just got back a few minutes ago after shopping for a few fruits he would eat as a snack later on in the day. Before he went to his room, however, he felt a strange need to go to the stage. After watching the show, Hachibei greatly wished to contribute something to the next perforamnce. Perhaps having an idea of how the stage was like would benefit him should the captain ever allow him to make anything for them.

As he arrived, the sight of Haruhi surprised him a bit. Despite all her enthusiasm, Hachiei found her to be rather inspiring and a talented actress. The way she conducted herself on stage was no less than professional, something Hachibei could admire even more than the shape of her eyes, which Hachibei adored staring at when they beamed with excitement.

"Hey, Haruhi!" Hachibei greeted from afar, his friendly tendencies beginning to show. "Congratulations on the show! I didn't know you had such a great talent for the stage! Hm? What are you doing?"

Haruhi paused in her stretches and stood up straight, turning to find Hachibei. "Oh!" she said as she wiped her brow. Damn, sweaty already? She was only doing stretches! She would have thought all that acting would be helping to keep her in shape. Either that or she was stretching vigorously enough to cause sweating. Yeah, that was it!

"Thanks!" she said with a smile, "I've been doing it for a while so it's totally second nature." She seemed quite proud of that fact.

"And right now I'm waiting for Naruto. He's going to teach me how to be a ninja!" Her face beamed once more. Oh man, this was going to be great!

"But he's late." Her face lost its shine and she frowned, crossing her arms and tapping her foot. She looked around the stage impatiently. "You haven't seen him, have you?"

Hachibei smiled warmly at Haruhi's enthusiasm. There was a childish charm to it and made her eyes seem all the brighter. If they were only bluer and and little more cat-shaped, he figured those eyes would have looked incredible there. However, the minute he heard the word "ninja," he flinched a bit.

"Hold on," Hachibei said. "I don't think I've met this Naruto guy yet. I'm still relatively new here, remember? If he's a ninja, I'd really doubt I'd be able to see him."

Hachibei paled a bit at the thought of Haruhi as a ninja. This dangerous idea was begging to get the one who inspired it killed. Who knew what would happen if Haruhi was capable of deadly ninja feats? But then, he noticed the change in Haruhi's expression. Now, he was looking at her whole face, noticing her impatience.

"Hey, dont' worry! I'm sure he'll be here soon. A ninja should be responsible, right?"

Finding replacements for actual weapons was pretty difficult. Naruto was damn sure he didn't want Haruhi to handle actual weapons until he was sure she wouldn't poke someone's eye out (and he was even more certain that that eye would belong to him or some other hapless crewmate) or end up losing them. So, that really meant he went into the kitchen and stole a lot of spoons. There was the chance they'd get bent or lost forever in the Way's stage and props and anywhere else they went flying, but it was better than losing something sharp and someone stumbling across it ( ... )
