This was a complete waste of her time. Why had this brought this kid onto the ship? Honestly, if he was getting in the way they should have just thrown him aside! Knocked him out a little. The patrol ship came in time. It's not like the kid would have died.

But no. No, the kid was here and now she had to deal with it. In fact, this time she wanted to deal with it, instead of delegating it to one of her 'usual' officers. It didn't help that her 'usual' officer for these kinds of matters was currently on a lifeboat headed for Kropmork. Sigh. She couldn't win even now, could she?

Her footsteps rang loudly as she stomped down the hallway. It was best to get this over with. They could probably drop him off the next time they made port somewhere. Best to let him know now what he should and shouldn't talk about when they did.

She stopped in front of the door to the holding room. There was a small window with bars across it, and she peered inside at the boy. Was he playing cards? Whatever.

"Hey, kid!" she yelled to get his attention.

After winning another hand against himself, Allen began to deal again. He heard footsteps, but there had been a couple of people pass so he didn't think much of them until he heard the voice. Kid? Kid? Ok, so he didn't look his age, and he was rather short...but as he looked to the window in the door he saw a girl who had to be younger than him. His eyebrows knitted together in a frown, but he forced himself not to get aggitated. "Hey." he replied, scooping up the cards and shuffling them ( ... )

Isako gave him a long, cold glare. It looks like he hadn't been properly 'warned.' Well, whatever. That didn't matter at all. He would learn soon enough, as in right about now.

"You're speaking to her," Isako replied curtly, "and you'll eat when I say you can eat." For now, she didn't address the 'getting thrown over the ship part.' No, she wasn't about to do that (lucky for him, she was in a good mood), but that didn't mean she couldn't let him think that was what she could do.

"Besides, this is your own fault. If you had stayed out of the way you wouldn't be here right now. So you can deal with your stomach for a bit longer. More importantly, why did you get in the way? Do you have a death wish?"

Allen frowned a little as he got glared at, fingers still nimbly working to shuffle the cards. At her words however, his fingers stumbled, sending the cards spraying upwards a little. "Eh?" Seriously? This had to be a joke. He opened his mouth to say so, but he promptly shut it again as she started berating him. Well she had some nerve, and the air of someone who was used to being obeyed, so it was possible that she really was the captain. Stranger things had happened ( ... )
