And by "heard about" he of course meant the ship's sudden lurching. The Admiral, he surmised, would not be pleased when he got back.
Calmly, Jade opened the door. He paused only a moment at the sight of a battered Kristoph before smoothly stepping back. "My my, I thought you'd never visit~"

So instead the quartermaster made something of a mild snorting sound as he entered the medical ward, shrugging off his coat as well (already loosely draped over him beforehand) to reveal an odd sort of budge on the right side of his back through the loose material of his dress shirt. "Its a pleasure to see you as well, Jade, but we can do with our idle chatter later," he spoke, voice rushed and just a little strained as he made a mild gesture to his back. "I think I've fractured by shoulder blade while chasing away our uninvited guests. Would you mind taking a look for me?"

Once Kristoph's back was turned, Jade allowed himself to frown slightly. Weather or not he liked the man, his step-brother's injury was worrying. Jade was mildly surprised (and somewhat impressed) that he'd made it as far as the office without simply collapsing from the pain - he supposed the adrenaline had kept the agony at bay.
Jade pulled on his gloves and peered more closely at the injury. The muscle on the whole of the other man's back was bruising brilliantly, but the centerpiece was obviously the warped bone just beneath the skin. Jade was fairly sure it wasn't a break, but a fracture or dislocation seemed plausible. Neither would be very pleasant once he started prodding around - oh well~

There was a short pause as Kristoph allowed his elder step-sibling to look at the injury, but the combination of this sudden attack, that nosy reporter almost messing everything up and with such incompetent crew members slacking around the ship instead of helping to clean the mess up did a good deal on his already fraying nerves. Soon enough, the man's patience wore thin and he asked Jade in a sharp tone. "Well? What's your diagnosis about this?"
