Kurt had been enjoying the oh, so rare peace and quiet that currently plagued the ship. Almost the entire crew had left to enjoy themselves and cause trouble in the city, leaving Kurt to himself. But that was okay, Kurt rather preferred to use this time for the quiet. It gave him the chance to look over things without worrying about added noise or distraction.

That was until, of course, he heard that deafening crash near the musician's stand. Now, being on the Winding Way guaranteed a little ruckus, but, Kurt was fairly certain he'd been alone on the deck. Maybe Sonic had come back and forgotten to step on the breaks?

Regardless, Kurt made his way over to make sure they were okay. Stepping inside, he called out, "Hello...?"

He saw a faint glowing, huh. Peculiar. "Is everyone all right, here?"

Yvaine ignored the questioning voice for a moment, staring up at the sky from which she fell. It was so strange, looking up at something. A distant part of her mind, the detached place that retreats to maintain reason in times of crisis, knew that she had fallen. The rest of her took a little longer to catch up.

Why was everything upside-down? And why did her leg hurt so much? She tried to think. There was something, something very big and very fast, that hit her foot. And then she fell.

She fell. The realization made her try to sit up. She didn't get very far before she was compelled to lay down again in deference to her broken leg.

"No," she admitted quietly, her voice flat with shock. "I don't believe I am."

Vash had been climbing the stairs up to the top deck, carrying a box full of props to be stashed backstage for later, when he heard the sound. It hadn't been quite like a gunshot, but it spurred him into action anyway; leaving him carelessly dropping the box at the foot of the stairs before he raced up them two at a time.

He made it up to the top decks only to see that there wasn't some sort of disaster happening, and nothing much to see at all except for Kurt's blue form standing in the orchestra pit. Seeing that made Vash breathe a little easier, but he only slowed to a jog as he crossed the deck, calling out to him. "Captain? What was that?"

Once he got to the edge of the orchestra pit, he stopped to stare at the sight, hands gripping the short wall in front of him. There was... a pretty woman, lying awkwardly there in the middle of the mess.

Vash was silent for a few seconds before saying, "You do know we're not open until tomorrow night, miss?"

Giselle hadn't gone into town -- she'd been asleep, trying to catch some rest while she could before the show. Well, she had been asleep...

Being a light sleeper, the sudden break in silence had woken her up even from below deck. At first she hadn't paid any attention to it; after all, this was the Winding Way, and random loud noises were not exactly uncommon. But the noise had been just a bit too loud, and just a bit too sudden, and it had come from outside, to boot. Still a little groggy, she climbed upstairs, wondering what was going on. It had almost sounded like something had fallen onto the ship -- but what could it have been? There wasn't anything above them but the stars in the sky.

As she cleared the top step, she saw a very familiar head of spiky blonde hair, standing over the orchestra pit. "Vash!" she called out as she continued forward, starting to feel more awake now. "Oh, and hello, Captain! What was that -- oh, my goodness..."
