The young powder monkey stepped on to the murky ground, and immediantly wanted to go right back off. The whole place was just... scary as all hell. Every hair on his body wanted to stand up at attention. He pulled his new hat down tighter over his ears against the wind. He had traded in the bandanna for a warm stocking hat, and added a jacket and work gloves. Fog and all that...

The side bag at his hip almost seemed to hum from the egg inside of it. The glow couldn't be seen while he had it closed, but he couldn't bring himself to leave it behind.

"Eh... we sure this is the place, yo?"

"As sure as we're going to get, Daisukenojo."

Katsushiro had pulled on his heavy rain poncho before he left the ship, but it wasn't doing as much good as usual at keeping out the cold - the fog was thoroughly insidious, as well ass vaguely creepy. Furthermore, every time he flipped the hood up, the wind blew it back off his head again, which was starting to get on his nerves. Not to mention, it made his ears cold.

"Shall we get going? Might as well get this over with."

This fog...Freya did not like fog. The way it obstructed her sense of sight made her feel vulnerable. And there was something else about this fog that bothered her, but she did not know what. Regardless, she would go. Part of the reason was to keep Beat safe, and the other part was she was genuinely curious.

Although it would be dangerous, but she still insisted on carrying a spear, this one lightweight to allow for faster movement and to put less strain on the rotting wooden planks. And besides, her spear was her lifeline. She would be foolish and not a Dragon Knight at all to ever venture somewhere unknown without it. Her hat, however, would stay on the ship. The wind was fierce and she'd rather not have it blown away.

"I would think just 'getting it over with' is not a wise thing to do," Freya said as she approached the boys. "Such an attitude towards a place like this will only lead to mistakes. However, if you are afraid, you can remain on the 4423 as a guard. I am sure someone would love to take your place."

"She's quite right," Kouichi chimed in, hands in his pockets as he made his way towards the group, looking around. The darkness caused by the fog made everything easier on his eyesight, but not enough that he could actually see through it. Originally, he'd intended to stay behind on the ship to monitor the radios, in case anything came up, but curiosity got the best of him.

And he had a feeling there was something... different about this place.

Rather than his usual chipper smile, he stopped near the three of them with a thoughtful, yet serious, expression on his face. Considering their surroundings for another moment, he looked back to them and smiled a bit. "Best be careful and take it easy." He pressed a shoe down with a bit more force against the wooden planks, causing it to creek. "Who knows what could happen if you tried to rush through."

Ugh. He had no idea why he'd been coerced out of getting off the ship. Maybe it was the promise of something good from the wreck. Whatever. It probably had to do with his position too.

As long as he was the team leader, that's all he cared about. He was pretty sure no one else would be higher rank than him anyways. He stepped a little further out and waited to see if anyone would walk by him.

He'd rather just tough it out on his own, but whatever.

For what seemed to be the thousandth time, Pip had to wonder if all this trouble that he was going through was what he would (supposedly) be paid for. What with all the shenanigans and hijinks and whatnot that had been happening recently, Pip really could do with that drink Dino had promised him pretty soon ( ... )

Lavi wrapped his scarf rather tighter around his neck than usual, pulling a fold of it up over his chin before he ventured out. He hadn't managed to find a decent hat, settling for his Lunasa bandanna, which was at least slightly warmer than his usual headband.

He patted the handle of his hammer (yet again. Not that he was nervous or anything) as he set off out into the fog, looking around for...well, anyone really. It was hard to see in the fog, and it messed up his depth perception no end, so although he made out the murky figures of Pip and Greed when he was still some distance away, he still managed to nearly walk into Pip.

He backed off a few paces, looking briefly between the two men, before greeting them with a cheerful "hey".

In all likelihood, it might have been better for Hijikata to stay behind. Not because he was still injured--his dizzy spells had long since passed, and his arm was more or less fine now-- but because his patience for the other crew members was notoriously low. Still, he'd been cooped up in his cabin on Penelo's orders far too long for his liking. He might have been a thinker, but damn it all, he was a man of action, too, and he liked getting things done with his own hands ( ... )

Dimo loved a challenge, and this ship sure looked to be one. Everything about it screamed "danger", so it was the perfect place for him to be. He rubbed his hands together in anticipation.

"Hokay, zo who's vith me for exploring?" he asked.

"Me, Dimo," Cimorene called, coming up to his side. She smiled and straightened the sword in a grubby old sheath that she had strapped around her waist. It looked rather out of place against her apron, not that Cimorene had noticed.

With his zanpakuto fully sheathed at his side, the blond Quartermaster advanced toward the two at a leisurely walk-in-the-park pace, hands, naturally, glued inside his pockets.

"Some helluva expedition this is gonna be," he commented idly, averting his gaze upward to the wreck. Anything could happen. Someone was probably going to break a leg going through a floorboard. Nails would be walked into. Honey eyes trailed back to Cimorene, and then Dimo.

There was something wrong about this place, and Shinji could feel it coiling inside. Call it a gut instinct. Nevertheless...

"So we goin' in or what?"

Dimo nodded. He could hardly contain his excitement, and all of his senses were on high alert. It felt good to be this aware of his surroundings, and to be constantly listening for unexpected sounds. "Ve iz. Ve's just vaiting for Maxim. He said he vas coming vith us, und I vant to have his eyes und ears to vork for us as vell as my own."

[ooc note: PLEASE do not add any more characters to the above threads. They are maxed out. Make a new group or join here.]

The ship was like something out of a story intended to scare children. As if Isako was one of those cowardly children. She walked right up to it with a determined gait, though she did pause just outside of it. Almost unconsciously her hand began to move towards her gun, to make sure it was there, before she forcefully pulled her hand away, instead reaching up to adjust her goggles. Stupid. This was stupid.

But it was something she had to do. She couldn't afford to lose her ship now, not with so much left to do. Her brother... yes, it was all for him, wasn't it? Not for this ship, or this crew. Definitely not. She didn't care about any of them.

She pulled her jacket tighter around her. If no one joined her she intended to go on her own. She would probably do a much better job by herself, anyway.

Yasako trudged out of the 4423 hesitantly, her large eyes scanning the perimeter and wincing at what they saw. It was the bleakest thing she'd seen in a while, and for a moment, she contemplated turning around and staying in the comforts of her room.

She glanced around uncertainly before spotting a tall, blond man standing beside someone..

...someone with a suspiciously familiar hair style.

All fear and nervousness she felt vanished immediately as the curiosity and desire to discover sparked within her, and she made her way towards the pair of them slowly. The previous attempts to ask Isako about the ships name..or anything personal all ended badly, but if there was something she could bet on with her whole life, it was that the girl was hiding something.

There was no doubt in Yasako's mind that what she knew had to do with the strange dreams she kept having--and the transmission that aired through the network was enough to reassure this.

She walked silently and paused before them.

"Tch...yare yare daze," came the always insightful commentary from the giant teenage boy that was known as Jotaro. He hadn't entirely wanted to come along, but Kakyoin insisted. They both had skills to offer given, as pilots, they had keen eyes. But Jotaro lacked a keen sense of giving a shit most of the time, and that made him somewhat reluctant to leave the ship. Damn that kid...

"So this thing haunted or what?" he asked in the most bored sounding manner he could possibly manage. Not that he had to try. But yeah, it did come off like he really DIDN'T want to be there. It would likely get him a repirmand from Kakyoin, but ah well. He pulled a cigarette and lit it up as well, frustrated that the fog ruined some of them in the pack...

By the time Wolfina found her way through the mists, tripod slung over her shoulder, several parties were already on their way into the ship. She could hear voices from the gaping holes in its hull, though they were growing fainter by the minute. She'd taken a few minutes longer than expected to get the radio room in order before her departure - she'd wanted any messages received in her absence recorded, but she wasn't quite familiar with the equipment yet. By the time she'd grabbed her tripod and left, pretty much everyone was gone.

Oh, well. She set her tripod on the ground beside her and leaned on it, looking back at the ship to watch for other stragglers. She'd wait here a few minutes, and if no one showed up, she'd go in herself. This was an adventure she was not missing out on, whether she had to go it alone or not - think of the photographs she could take! Treasure on a shipwreck! How cool was that? And a killer story as well ( ... )

Alfred finished off the last remnants of his pre-adventure snack before heading out. Okay, so maybe he was running a little late and practically everyone else had gone on ahead without him, but that didn't matter. No, in fact, it was better that way. A Hero always arrives at the last second, right? Otherwise, all of his sidekicks wouldn't get any screen time!

He grinned to himself while checking to make sure that his pockets were supplied with an appropriate amount of ammo. He wasn't sure if there would be any reason to use his gun today, but he certainly felt safer with it than without.

Soon after stepping off of the ship, he spotted Wolfina and her tripod. His casually stole switched gears to a run as he made his way towards her. "Hey, you! Ya wanna be my adventure buddy?!"

Anthy made her way carefully through the mist, with a certain young powder monkey secured on her back. It seemed the makeshift harness was holding up well. Now that she was used to it, she rather liked having Mariko on her back, with the girl's face next to her ear. It reminded her a little of the way she sometimes carried Chuchu on her shoulder. Surprisingly, carrying Mariko was also turning out to be rather calming. The crazed, itchy feelings of restlessness and agitation the mist seemed to bring forth in Anthy were starting to subside. After all, with a little life on her back she needed to be her most clear thinking and cautious ( ... )

Mariko arms encircled Anthy's back tightly, as if she was afraid to fall, despite the harness having a secure hold on her, strapping her firmly to the older girl. Of course, this was all intentional, seeing how this human had found her to be weak and innocent, and she wanted to keep it that way. It didn't matter if she felt waves of disgust at having to be carried. She could stomach it as easily as she had when having to react docilely to Maxim ( ... )
