It was much as Tear had guessed. Cid had been smashing clanks left and right with his spear, doing a pretty good amount of damage... but for each one he killed another showed up.

And soon he was losing ground, the spare parts for the main engine disappearing like apple dumplings from the kitchen. The mechanic was cursing up a storm.

"SHIT! I can't fucking tell... some are coming from the steam vents! We goota stop those before anymore fall in the engine!" He bellowed, crushing another one as he spoke.

Tear's eyes scanned the room once more, futilely trying to estimate just how many robots there were. Frowning, she stiffened, her mind whirling as she struggled to come up with the most effective plan.

They needed to stop any more from coming, but they also needed to stop them from leaving. There was only one solution coming to mind for all of this.

"Find a way to close the steam vents, as well as any other entrances they're using," she ordered, as she slipped out several knives from the garter hidden behind the slit of her dress. "I'll try to stop the rest from making away with anything."

"Got it!" He yelled back, twisting towards the engine and planting his spear into the floor. With a heavy grunt he used it as a boost, jumping from a straight stand-still up onto the top of the engine.

Not pausing he again used the spear, thin time to reach the latches next the vents. The first one hissed closed and he was moving again, jumping from place to place with much more grace then a 30-something year old smoker should of managed.

"How you holding up over there!?"

On orders from the Captain, Nikolas had wasted no time heading down towards the engine room. He could tell, just from the state of the hallways, that there was a serious problem.

Those already in the engine room could probably hear him coming. He wasn't being terribly discrete about blowing the little monstrosities up as he came across them, and the sound was echoing a bit through the ship.

He dispatched a few more as he reached the doorway and ducked inside, hands still glowing a faint blue. "The Captain sent me to help with the problem. You look as if you could use it."
