This was really too much. Katsushiro had expected things to have changed since he last saw Kambei, fair enough, but he hadn't expected to be replaced.
True, it was hardly Beat's fault, but Katsushiro wasn't in the mood to be reasonable.
He stormed out onto the deck, looking around for the other boy. It didn't help that he had no real idea what the interloper looked like, but since there was only one other person on the deck..."Daisukenojo, I presume?"

"Yep." He said, trying to keep the anger out of his voice and failing. Katsushiro was.. older then him. He guessed that made logical sense, but it only added to the fire. He tossed one of the bokken at the other student, making sure to put some force into the throw.

"I doubt the Captain would want us ta kill each other." He growled, moving from foot to foot, not quite in a fighting stance, but getting there.

Katsushiro caught the bokken one-handed, not giving Beat the satisfaction of seeing any visible reaction to the sting as it hit his palm.
"Hm? You're probably right...but how close d'you think we can get?"

He settled the bokken in his hand, slipping easily into a defensive stance. "Ready when you are, kid." Beat wasn't that much younger than him, true, but a little needling wouldn't do any harm...

"Pretty close, I bet." He replied with a growl. He too slipped into stance, though his was obviously less defencive in nature.

He gave the bokken one final anger squeeze before darting in, looking for a weakness in Kastushiro's defence.
