Characters: Penelo, Mamma, and anyone else on the 4423 Content: Penelo is annoyed with the lack of medical records and decides to get some. Setting: Infirmary on the 4423 Time: All day Warnings: Swearing from grumpy patients
Heihachi was glad that the ship had been lucky enough to pick up a few new healers that seemed a little more reliable than their current doctor. Even if he'd only spoken to Penelo over the journals she seemed like a sensible sort of person who had the best interests of the crew at heart. Conversely, most people on the ship probably weren't going to submit happily to a check-up, but he wasn't one of them. Now that they weren't stranded and in immediate danger, he figured it was about time he got his ribs checked out properly.
He peered into the infirmary, taking note of the knew signage with amusement - that wasn't going to make many people happy - before his gaze settled on the young woman with the business-like expression. "Good morning. Are you Miss Penelo?"
"Heihachi!" he told her with a bow. "Reporting in as per your instructions."
She was a little younger than he would have expected, but she was still a healer, and it never hurt to be respectful to the person taking care of your wounds. Otherwise the healing process could get that much more unpleasent.
"Oh, good!" She handed Heihachi the clipboard, then paused. "Uh, one second." Penelo grabbed her staff and shot lightning at something behind the samurai. "Rats. I hate rats. Anyway, can you fill out what you know before I do the actual check up part?"
Wandering down the halls of the ship rather aimlessly, Kambei was simply inspecting the inner hull of the vessel before he noticed the infirmary nearby. Despite the fact, the 4423 does have a suitable medical bay; none of the pirates seemed interested in leaving their trust within their ship's doctors. A similar feeling that the samurai certainly shared with other members of the crew since their other doctor seemed rather unreliable. Yet, ever since the arrival of their youthful new nurse, the old samurai decided perhaps it would be wise just to check up on the youngster and see if all is well in the infirmary.
Walking inside rather gingerly at first, Kambei glanced about for a moment before his eyes lay to rest upon an unfamiliar member of the crew. “Greetings.” He said with the faintest trace of a smile upon his emotionless face.
“No, I have not.” Kambei quickly replied in honesty. “I am merely inquiring if you need some assistance here. I was inspecting the halls for anymore damage within the ship’s interior.” Most of the repairs inside of the vessel where almost done thanks to his diligent labor and his constant vigilance for any of his fellow crewmates that may be slacking on the job. However, despite his perseverance to try to repair the damaged airship with the help of the others; the 4423 is still is very shoddy shape.
Penelo frowned. "Well, now that you're here, you might as well know I'm getting files on all the crew made up. There are a grand total of none so far, which isn't good if there's an emergency. So," she added, giving Kambei a clipboard, "fill this out, please? I need to know all of that before I can do an actual check up."
Poking his head around the doorway to the infirmary, Vaan surveyed his options. He didn't really want to get stuck filling out boring medical charts, but he knew how persistent (and painful) the retribution would be if he skipped out on it for another day longer. He'd been friends with Penelo long enough to know that the girl would find him no matter where he hid.
Penelo had been waiting for the gunner to show up. She knew he'd be one of the first. The last time he'd hidden from her, he'd gotten a full blast of a blizzard spell.
Handing him a clipboard, she commented, "Well, you know the drill. And yes, I'm going to poke. You might have bruised something."
Taking the clip board in one hand and the pen in the other, Vaan looked down at the first page. No doubt there was more lurking underneath.
"C'mon, Penelo. I'm fine, honest! I was strapped in when the ship crashed, so I only got a few cuts and scrapes." Frowning, the blond rubbed at his nose, which was looking a little redder than normal, along with his eyes.
Gradually from down the hall came the sound of loud voices... or maybe it was just one. It got louder and louder as whomever it was got closer. Finally the door was shoved open with more force than necessary and Maxim walked into the infirmary with a rather loud Tira draped over his shoulder. His arms were grasping her legs quite tightly so that she couldn't kick him in the face and he'd had to open the door with his foot.
"LET ME GO NOW! MAXIM!" Tira's loud shrieks could be heard throughout the halls of the ship, for this petite vixen was screaming like a banshee. "MAXIM! YOU BASTARD!" She hissed at him, knowing she couldn't escape his iron-like grip and that all she could do is flail her arms wildly in humiliation.
Mamma stared at the door, not having heard this level of commotion in quite some time.
Turning out to be the other Jäger on board, of course, was not unexpected in the least. Mamma grinned at him, teeth glinting. "Hyu vorn dis vun out already Maxim?" Mamma Gkika asked, quite amused by the girl's racket, assuming she must be the one and same that he'd told her about earlier.
Grinning widely at Mamma's remark, Maxim shrugged. "Hy vish dot vos de case. Den she might not be viggling like dis." Letting Tira slid down from his shoulder he stepped backwards to shut the door behind him and stood between it and Tira to make sure she couldn't escape.
"Me und her got a leedle banged op during de crash so Hy thought ve should come und see hyu."
Hijikata didn't particularly mind doctors--having them around and using their services was practical, after all, and he had nothing to hide from them--but this particular visit had him in ill spirits anyway. He glared contemptuously at the "No Smoking" sign as he mulled things over for a while, then unceremoniously placed his still-smoking pipe back between his lips and strode into the infirmary like he owned it. He'd be cooperating with whatever else they wanted, but like Hell was he going to let them tell him where to smoke...
Well, that was terribly undignified. Hijikata shook the damp ashes out of his pipe, his scowl intensifying. There was no way he was going to let some uppity brat get the upper hand on him, not where his smoking was concerned.
"Let me fix that for you," he growled, sweeping over to the sign and tearing it down, then calmly taking out his tobacco case and refilling the empty bowl.

"The sign says no smoking," Penelo called. "So no smoking!"
