The Nefarious History of Motherhood:
Men, you see, were hot and dry. When they started retaining water, it was a bad thing. Women, though, were wet and cold (Freud, anyone?). If women became TOO dry or hot, they turned into men. Thus, the Athenian angst over the Spartan’s tendency to allow their women to exercise with the men. TOO hot, too

You don't want to know how late I stayed up reading this yesterday evening when I had to get up at 5 AM this morning. Not good. And I meant to get caught up on everyone's writing, too (I'm that far behind!) but I just couldn't make myself stop clicking on more entries...

For part of the time my daughter was home and I could tell her the juiciest tidbits. It is always so much more fun to read horrible, fascinating stuff if you can share the horror and fascination with someone else.
Thanks for the link. It's amazing, with a history like this, that humans have managed to survive so long.

I know! It's way more fun when you can horrify the people around you, especially when you're all sharing that sensation of mutual leg-crossing. :)

This, so very much so.

Cool, mail! That's always fun, although having to go pick up heavy mail because you're not at home is not so much fun. I'm waiting on a parcel from Japan that's taking forever. It'd better arrive next week or I'm going to start getting annoyed...

Anyway, I didn't see anything particularly awful. Differing points of view, yes, but people are allowed to have different points of view, and they weren't without basis. We're just seeing things from different angles and experiences, and I've said a few times that it's a really good experience learning how different people think about things.
And - I apologise for getting too forceful in places when it comes to debating. I could stand to back off a bit and go 'yeah, hey, that's what X thinks, let it go'. (I just so rarely get the chance IRL, and it shows. *cradles face in hands*) But it's something I really need to learn to do.
I'll try and reply and comment on things tomorrow. I need to give my hands a rest after a big weekend of typing! (I started writing a bit of the scene where my protag meets the love interest today, and, well. Must. Back. Away. From. Keyboard!)

A learning experience for all concerned, I think, which is good. I'm still amazed as to how many comment threads that post spawned...
Indeed. I has 23k, now.
Yes! I want purple cyborg hands! That would be awesome!
(I'm LOLing at the fact that you even need to specify the original trilogy. Why would anyone voluntarily put themselves through the torture that is Jar Jar Binks more than a time or two? I used to know a guy who'd mimic his voice just to annoy me...)
How did your first day of meetings go? :)
