I think when it comes to my pieces, they are not intended as wallpapers but as a discussion of a character (hey, I know that sounds soooo pretentious but blah, being honest) so there usually is something in it that is intended as a message. It's easier to compose when you have a theme/idea in mind! Like for this one, it's all about how Ruby (the character) appears as different people to other characters, her secrets etc.
Long story short (I have verbal diarrhoea), maybe you could try that? Honestly helps! :)
I'm definitely going to try that! It's a truly inspiring piece. :)
I've certainly become a lot more open and experimental since doing some of the challenges here, and some times it works others it doesn't.) Especially using curves, I've come to love curves!
YES to the second part. It's easy to become perfect in one thing but not try and move onto other styles. I'm trying to be open myself but my stubborness sometimes gets in the way. This community has done that for me! As for curves, I am finding them SO useful now too :D
wow, that's amazing. The effect you used on the whole enrty is gorgeous, and I love that you did something different with every piece of the picture: the black eyes, the blood from the mouth, the black dripping from her eye,... Also, really impressive how you got that coloring from that screencap!
Thank you, I'm really pleased you like each of the aspects...I was trying to show her multifaceted side so yeah, good stuff amigo.
The colouring was actually quite simple, I think from a few selective colourings actually! I'll try replicate it for you so you can see the layers (unfortunately it's merged in this one)? If you do want it, remind me cos I forget things easily.
