Okay, I have puzzled over this a few times today and I am just going to come out and admit my confusion. I have no idea how to mask a layer. I am guessing this is because I use ps elements or am I missing the obvious?

I don't think Elements has official 'layers' but I read somewhere you can fake them? Here's from goooogle:

I use a portable version of CS5 that is a tiny (less than 100mb i think) file and it easy to learn if you'd like me to share Kat?

it sounds like you've got this pretty under control but I just thought I'd add that ESSENTIALLY masking is just a much more controlled and advanced version of the eraser tool, so ohgollygeedamn has that as another option

Oh, thank you! now I feel bad, I probably should have just googled it myself haha. I had cs on my old computer so I kind of know my way around. It is so kind of you to offer. Would the version work for a mac?

And just quietly I'll admit I'm a bit terrified for this challenge. I've never really actively thought too much about which blending modes I use (I'm so familiar with them at this point it's become second-nature) so I can't even predict how my style is going to change being all 'normal' XD

Hi! I've made an icon for this challenge (I dunno if I'll actually enter yet...), but I actually worked over the course of, like, three .psd files. I've saved them, but I know I have to attach my .psd files to my entry; I just wanted to double check that, if I do enter, zipping up all three of those would work fine, right?
