It all started because my brother had this massive obsession with cars. One day the old man had a crazy idea (maybe he was just sick of hearing the car-talk, massive greenie that dad is) that he could buy a car for my bro to just work on and take apart with his massive encyclopaedia of a car brain.

The car cost $300, plus the $30 battery to get the thing working. (this is aussie money so about $165 american all up) In other words, basically the most junk but working car we could get. Plus: You only get to start driving a car at the age of 16, and only alone once you're 17 here. So I have a year and he has THREE to let the thing ferment in the backyard before he can drive it at all.

Yeah, I thought they were crazy too... :D
