it's all done, y'all. copies of *the last island* arrived a couple weeks ago and i've spent the last couple weeks sending out 304 preview copies--269 to u.s. stores and 35 to stores overseas. jad and i called the american stores one by one to verify the contact name and the address and we spent another solid day pulling new stores out of thin air ( Read more... )

and will you be coupling them to make super fancy collector's edition packs?

*ssf* did pretty good, yeah, but i dunno about any fancy collector's packs. more likely is that i'll put the two together into a perfect-bound book later once they're out of print.

I'm actually working on a graphic novel now but before this I ran a bookstore here in Ottawa, Ontario. I'd strongly encourage you (if you haven't done so already!) to check out the Comic Book Industry Alliance. This is a forum that features, as members, most of the best retailers in North America (guys like Rory Root from Comic Relief and Brian Hibbs from Comix Experience).

Robert Scott of Comickaze (in San Diego) is the moderator and, since it's a private forum, you have to apply for membership (it's free, but membership is controlled).

If you never been before, it's really worth a look. And if you have, I'll shut up! Either way, best of luck with your book!
