Awesome friends only header... how do you make those effects on your graphics?

I rarely remember how to do what I did after I close photoshop, heh, but I'm pretty sure that's just a gradient over the image with the layer blending mode set to "exclusion" and the text for "friends only" is set on "overlay" or "soft light" so it picks up the colors of the banner.

ok, i realize this is super creepy of me but anyway. i am a huge lurker on the amtam message boards (i never got around to asking for access to post and i just love reading it) and i love your fan site too, but then i was reading in the music forum where you said you were going to see bright eyes on june 6th and i was like "HEY, ME TOO" and then you were talking about rufus wainwright and ben folds in concert and i was like "HEY, I'M GOING TO THAT TOO" and then i came across your livejournal so i thought i'd say hello. i'm not trying to meet up with you or be a weird stalker or anything, i swear, i just wanted to say hello because i believe we live in the same city or close to and i love amber tamblyn a ton and none of my other friends really know much about her so it makes me happy to know that there is someone else around this place who loves her as much as i do and likes the same music, too.

STALKER! No, hah, that's cool. I checked your user info and we do live in the same town. Gotta love the suburban midwest, or, ya know, gotta hate it and live for the day you finall leave. Really a judgement call there.

And yay for good taste in music! It makes me happy to find others who like Bright Eyes. I never expected them to come here, but lately everytime I go onto the Cain's page I find myself going "What?! (fill in the name of an awesome artist/band) is coming here?" I'll be broke by September, but my display of concert tickets will be significantly less pathetic.

Don't worry, none of my friends here are really big Amber fans either, they all thought JoA was going to be too preachy so I couldn't get them to watch and convincing them that "The Sisterhood..." shouldn't be likened to a Hilary Duff movie has proven difficult.

i hope it is okay for me to add you? i was really actually very excited about leaving here for college but then i ended up going to OSU oklahoma when i planned on going to OSU ohio. i just didn't think i could be that far away from home and i was probably right.

i know! the only problem i have with the cain's is that when it's crowded it's CROWDED and the crowds can be really annoying/rude. i'm a little scared of what bright eyes is going to be like as far as fans. i went to gavin degraw earlier this year and that was disappointing all around. then i went to jason mraz (who is amazing amazing live and no one believes me) and he ended up being terribly sick and i ended up sloshing around in a puddle of bud light anyway. i have a love/hate relationship with the main ballroom.

YES i have had such a hard time trying to tell everyone that the sisterhood is actually going to be a good movie. it's like no one believes me!
