Matchmaker glitch?

Dec 12, 2012 18:08

I have three Young Adults living in a dorm. One sister (Amy) called the matchmaker for a date and after a bumpy start, everything went well.

The second sister (Betty) called the matchmaker for a date. The date went really well (except for the cow mascot runining everything at the end), but then a few days later Betty went to call up her date. The ( Read more... )

I'm wondering if the sim is a service sim, like a waiter or a bartender. IIRC, I think Apartment Life borked the ability to call those types of sims to either talk or invite them over? Not certain, but I think that is a thing that happened.

If you have the sim blender, you could try summoning him to the lot? Have to know the name though, idk if you do or not.

Well, I know his first name for sure, but I don't have the sim blender and I'm not sure if I really want to deal with that. Betty can always get another date -- it's not like it's the end of the world or anything. :p

It would make sense if he's a service sim, except that I *just* created a new neighborhood and a custom university, so there aren't any community lots. So. I'm not sure when/how NPCs generate, though.

Thanks for your help. :)

I wonder if maybe he was a hobby leader sim (or whatever they're called), the ones who hang out at the secret hobby lots in Freetime. None of them have phones because they don't have houses...not even the hypothetical "phones" that townies have. :/

Do you remember what he was wearing?

Oops I just saw you don't have Freetime. Never mind!

I had this happen too. I just invited him over in my game, moved him in and made him into a townie again with the teleporter shrub.

I hadn't thought that he might be a service sim, that probably explains it :) I think the bartender must get created straight away because you can hire one on the phone.

Have you patched? Cell phones going missing was also an issue introduced with AL.
I would also recommend downloading and trying to patch every expansion (or sp as the case may be), the installation of the expansions and their patch install may not get everything up to date like it should be. simswiki.info has all the patches, and so does Simsvip.

You could also try a npc phonebook fix, like the one from http://www.simwardrobe.com/ it could be that AL, having been released after FT, also contains the same script glitch that removed certain npcs from the phonebook.

Yes, I patched everything. It turns out I could invite him over for a party after she graduated and moved out, so that way he could move in. Problem solved. :)
