Installing an EP involves the game changing a whole lot of stuff, including registry entries, and not just straight up copy and paste so just copying the game files from your laptop will not work to install FT on another computer.

Did you register the EP? If you did, I think you should be able to get the digital download for free. Or at least that is the advice I have seen around the place in the past. You might want to wait around for someone who actually did that successfully to come along and confirm, though.
