Making a celebrity sim

Dec 27, 2010 22:15

How do you do it? I don't like the photoskinning technique, but I can't even make a sim that looks like myself, haha.

Are there forums with tutorials on how to make a sim look like a person? With tips and techniques, etc.

How do you do it? And of who do you still want a sim?
I totally still want Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett sims.

Get pictures from all angles with the face in a neutral position as possible. You have to get the bone structure right or nothing looks proper.

IMO, photoskinning is a cop-out to actually creating a sim.

There is a little program on MTS that lets you line up facial features with those from a reference photo. Though personally, when I need to make a sim that looks like a particular person, I print a picture of the person in both full face and profile view in a size that matches my screen. I then work mostly free-form, starting with a template face shape that is closest to the face shape of the actual person. And choose lips, eyes, etc, that are kind of similar. I then start tweaking and keep putting the picture, printed on plain and not photo paper, over the screen, checking the placement and shape of facial features. I made a self-sim for myself, my friend and her husband this way and all of them are actually fairly close to the actual faces ( ... )

I want this!! Do you happen to have a link to it, or the exact name so I can do a search?

I just went through the Programs downloads for TS2 on MTS http://www.modthesims.info/d/230590

Keep in mind that it may not work in Windows Vista or 7 as it was made back in 2007.

Gonna go play with it; I'll let you know how it went.

It didn't go. I'm guessing because I'm running Windows7 like you said. BUT this has inspired me to finally buy some tracing paper. I have a set of celeb sims I passionately want and keep trying to make... never to my satisfaction. XD

What hidden-kitten said. Have as many pictures from different angles with neutral expressions as possible, and work hard to make the sim match. That's the only way to do it (and photoskinning looks AWFUL so I recommend not going with the lazy option...)
