i'm not sure if this will work with a business, but you can try this control that let's you choose if/what times you can use a table in a room.... scroll down until you see "eating and serving control":

let me know if it works!

err, maybe this would help? You could use it at each door and lock out any employees?

I could have sworn that there was a hack somewhere to keep them from wanting things behind locked doors at all but I can't seem to find it....

What you said reminds me of the description of Inge's "no unsetting routeblock flags" on http://www.simlogical.com/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2_Doors.htm.

thanks for the links. the locked door one would be great for employee only entrances... but i just can't understand why she won't use the tables right there in the room with her. i even replaced one to be the same as in the master bedroom...no luck.... hmmm

no, the restaurant is upstairs and the master suite is downstairs on the other side of the property. the chairs are about the same. :(

I think they meant higher environment *score* (as in, prettier floor/wall, more plants or statues or the like) rather than elevation.

erk sorry - i meant the environment points as they affect the environment of the room they are in.
environment: 1 etc

Like the 'good taste dining table' (square with tablecloth, $400) has no environment score to add to a room, but the '"La Table" Square dining table' (square with one stand, $710) has enviroment: 1 & the 'great taste dining table' (rectangle with tablecloth, $810) has evironment: 2.

if the bedroom chair or table environment/comfort points are higher than the restaurant ones, that could be the reason.

some sims will avoid everything nearby to go for the higher scoring items on the opposite end of the lot. its irritating to say the least =\

its also possible that the sim in question has marked you its target for annoying & theres no rhyme nor reason other than wacked out AI.
