Actually he's not lying. That does happen in northern climes. At the beginning of whatever the cold season, 40 degrees feels extremely cold. Then by the time the end of the cold season rolls around, 40 degrees feels balmy.

Still, that's no reason to move there.

I've never been do Quebec, but I've been to Toronto....in January....remind me to tell you that story someday. Anyway while I was there we spent a lot of time outdoors and I was amazed at how the populace has adapted to the cold. Everywhere there were crowds of people doing outdoor-type things, dandling bundled up babies on their hips, their cheeks all rosy from the cold. It was like being at Myrtle Beach but with snow and ski suits. It was delightful and charming, but I could never picture myself getting used to that way of life.

Sorry. I'm a Texas girl now.

BTW - so awesome meeting you!

i've only been to canada in summertime. i loved toronto in august! i'm just afraid that quebec in december would kill me. :) i actually consider Vancouver a viable option, because though it rains a lot, it rarely snows. every time i start to think about that sort of thing, though, i think of how much i would miss my big, gregarious family and our holiday gatherings. i dunno. we'll see where life sends us.

it was great fun meeting you, too!

i just showed up and stuffed my face and told stories all night.

I call BS. I have photographic evidence of you cleaning up in the kitchen. And your stories were AWESOME.

When is the event in June? I need it on my calendar.
