thanks, chica! this is terrifying stuff. my sister (my niece's mom) has an auto-immune condition that causes full-body paralysis. they don't think this is the same thing as that, but it's awful to be in this position with a baby who is so small.

one of the things that they're testing her for is a metabolic disorder, along those lines. they're also looking at mitochondrial disorders and more purely neurological causes. let me know if you think of what it is.
