I... don't know. It's true, this place has a terrible habit of making life miserable and- honestly, there are certain... social aspects of my life back home that are equally as aggravating but...
[ While he isn't looking at you, Alexander. There is now a soft, gentle smile on his face. Deal with it. ]
...It'll be fine, in the end.

[a slight pause, blinking against the rain as he surveys, shrugging.] Eh. Now is alright. [snatching at Edel's arm, pulling and leaning, giving an exaggerated sniff with a dry smirk.]
Even you do not smell.

[ SUDDENLY. WELL THEN. GOOD SIR. This is a little precarious! In fact, it is a little more than a little precarious! Edel stiffens and, just as suddenly, his face changes from one of surprise to one of complete and utter embarrassment. ]
O-O-O-O-O-O-OOF COURSE I do not smell!

Still, it was aggravating. ]
I'm fine with the cold. [ Another pause, his nose twitched and tickled, but he would not sneeze. He would not sneeze. ]

[ He stiffens, but follows Alexander. God knows what sort of trouble he'd get into, even in this dreary weather. ]
It's cold, but I... suppose I feel something when it falls.
When my father passed away, he wanted nothing more than to go outside that day. To play in the snow, I'd assume.
[ Quietly. ] ...He was rather childish.
[ Quite sure of himself now: ] I lied. Frankly I feel nothing at all. That is the feeling snow gives.

[on the latest step, he lifts his knee high and gives his foot a shake,a chuckle in his voice.] I do not suit the snow anymore, so I do not hunt north. And I have to carry a stupid heat stone with me that smells worse than a barn...
The cousins love it, though. Snow. Except the runners, obviously.
Childish, as you said.

[ He looks up for a moment: ] Rain, at the very least, washes everything away, doesn't it? I suppose, depending on the season, it can come one day and leave the next and no one would be the wiser.

In Olvoski, it is. I do not know the truth anywhere else.

[ He stops in his tracks. Just. What? What? ]
... I've never heard of such a thing. You can't go outside at night when it rains? At all? That's...
Is your entire world so deadly?
