[ With a frown, he can only look away as he thinks. ]

I... don't know. It's true, this place has a terrible habit of making life miserable and- honestly, there are certain... social aspects of my life back home that are equally as aggravating but...

[ While he isn't looking at you, Alexander. There is now a soft, gentle smile on his face. Deal with it. ]

...It'll be fine, in the end.

I do not care about the end. Now matters more.

[a slight pause, blinking against the rain as he surveys, shrugging.] Eh. Now is alright. [snatching at Edel's arm, pulling and leaning, giving an exaggerated sniff with a dry smirk.]

Even you do not smell.

What do you mean by no-

[ SUDDENLY. WELL THEN. GOOD SIR. This is a little precarious! In fact, it is a little more than a little precarious! Edel stiffens and, just as suddenly, his face changes from one of surprise to one of complete and utter embarrassment. ]

O-O-O-O-O-O-OOF COURSE I do not smell!

[that sets him to laughing again, releasing him and leaning away.] Not in the rain.

[ That brief smile was a distant memory by now, as Edel's face returns to it's natural state of frowning. He turns away from him because, honestly. This was dumb.

Until, finally, he lets out a most grandiose sneeze. ]

[Alex's eyebrow quirks at that, amused and a bit surprised. humans...]

Go back inside, Edel.

[ Ever so stubbornly: ] I'm fine. I'm not leaving you out here.

I am stronger than you are, and I do not sneeze in the water. You would be very annoying ill, I believe...[snickering.]

[ He curled his lip to begin his protest, but stopped himself shortly. He could not deny that Alexander's certainly physically stronger than him, of course. Just a whip of his feet and he could easily decimate anything with his path. Edel, on the other hand, certainly didn't believe in such skills being necessary for what he does in life...

Still, it was aggravating. ]

I'm fine with the cold. [ Another pause, his nose twitched and tickled, but he would not sneeze. He would not sneeze. ]

...My father quite enjoyed the cold. Snow, of course. It's colder than rain, but not so terribly uncomfortable with the right gear.

I have no love of snow anymore. [rocking back on to flat feet, he began to walk, away from the building.] I do not assume you do or do not, since you are not your father.

"Anymore..."

[ He stiffens, but follows Alexander. God knows what sort of trouble he'd get into, even in this dreary weather. ]

It's cold, but I... suppose I feel something when it falls.

When my father passed away, he wanted nothing more than to go outside that day. To play in the snow, I'd assume.

[ Quietly. ] ...He was rather childish.

[ Quite sure of himself now: ] I lied. Frankly I feel nothing at all. That is the feeling snow gives.

Only after the cold, after the burn. When you march the snows of Olvoski, it is all feeling, and then nothing.

[on the latest step, he lifts his knee high and gives his foot a shake,a chuckle in his voice.] I do not suit the snow anymore, so I do not hunt north. And I have to carry a stupid heat stone with me that smells worse than a barn...

The cousins love it, though. Snow. Except the runners, obviously.

Childish, as you said.

Nothing, huh?

[ He looks up for a moment: ] Rain, at the very least, washes everything away, doesn't it? I suppose, depending on the season, it can come one day and leave the next and no one would be the wiser.

Water purifies. But only if it is a day rain. Night rain is death without justice.

In Olvoski, it is. I do not know the truth anywhere else.

Death rain?

[ He stops in his tracks. Just. What? What? ]

... I've never heard of such a thing. You can't go outside at night when it rains? At all? That's...

Is your entire world so deadly?
