I trust you to fix things. *squishes*

I'd be interested to read that Trace Memory fic. It's one of the few of the novels that I enjoyed, and had half-decent characterisation. Admittedly, I haven't read many (doing all my TW novel reading sitting in Borders), but I didn't like the Twilight Streets at all, and so many people rave about that one.

To make myself feel better, I'm plotting a writing experiment that doesn't go anywhere near the Season That Never Was. It's pre-Reset, even. Kind of nervous, since I haven't done much dialogue in TW fandom, but it does have a cracking joke in it that's too good to waste. So, I'm kicking my muse into gear! I haven't written anything postable since writing a cheer-up fic for Sam when he broke his leg. A couple of unpostable things that could, technically, be knocked into shape, but the most polished of them is kinda melancholy, and I don't really want to be playing in the angst-pool right now.

*snuggles* D'aaaw! ♥

Here's the first part if you missed it. Of Future Pasts and Past Futures. I wanted to do a companion piece from Ianto's PoV, so that's the one that's coming. I adored Trace Memory and there were things in Twilight Streets I really liked. If you're reading for nice Janto moments, Pack Animals is fantastic for that. As for 'Almost Perfect'... I have a love/hate relationship with that novel. *g* I'm a dork and buy the books because they're small and easily fit into my purse.

XD that's fantastic! I can't wait to see that either. Alas, the fix-it has to be angst ridden, but it's the happy ending that counts, right?

Oh God, it just occurred to me - I hope no one's giving Gareth shit over this. Some people were so pissed that James Moran had told them they'd enjoy this season (I know! the nerve of that man!) and of course Gareth had to say "yeah, I'm looking forward to season four, blah blah blah" at conventions and whatnot, so maybe people got bent out of shape over that too...

Fans that get angry at writers like that just make me want to bitch-slap them all, and then hug the poor writer.

The only time I think it's every justified to be mad at a writer is if they write badly - and by which I mean OOC and plot holes and the like. I say this because the only time I've ever gotten truly mad at writers was for this last season of Heroes, in which they did a horrible job with plot and characterization.

I am a rather rabid Heroes fan, and it hurt like fuck to see it happen to my show, but aside from deciding that the writing team is mostly crap, I could never imagine ATTACKING them. I can see leaving messages saying in a calm, respectful way, why you think they've fucked it up, but I've seen people expressing the thoughts that I imagine got shot at James, and I think it's absolutely horrible. Being a fan of something means you can feel joy and sadness, and at times betrayed, but it's just not such a big deal that attacks like that are ever, EVER justified.

Poor writers (and James) that he got crap for it. Honestly, it was brilliantly written. I'm angry about the direction they chose to go. Really really angry. The thing about TV and serials like Torchwood and Doctor Who is that people tune in to see how their heroes get out of the messes they find themselves in. We don't tune in to see which one of our heroes die next. But if that's the way the writers want to go (in specific the head writer), it's their choice, neh? All I can do is choose not to read/watch their work anymore.

And possibly send coffee to the BBC.
