I doubt there's going to be a fourth series. It was written in a way that just screamed 'this is the end'.
I honestly thought this was one of RTD's best endings, though. I think it's going to be an unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed the episode. It was dark and brutal and messy, but I still liked it. Admittedly, I've always been a fan of extremely dark things, but I still think you should give it a shot before you're too hard on it.
I think ultimately we have to remember that, while this might not have been what we as fans wanted, it wasn't up to us to decide. I've struggled with this after so many shows and I'm really just trying to embrace the zen thing.
My only significant criticism of the whole thing is that DW/TW has always had a message of hope, which this seemed to be lacking, even if the millions of children were saved. I just wish the sense of finality had been accompanied by some kind of glimmer of reassurance.
At the same time, though? It's the hardcore fans who are the ones who buy all the merchandise and support. this feels like saying 'fuck off'. I don't know. I might be upset and tired and annoyed for this coming on my birthday when I thought this would be such a great lead up to it.
Yeah. there is no hope. Not when you see the look on jack's face before he teleports away.

I'm clinging to you still? the objective observer says it's an amazing episode. The fan in me is pissed and upset.

That's pretty much how I feel. As long as there isn't a fourth series, I think I can be okay with it though.
