Camp. Is. Over

Jul 30, 2007 11:22

Thank fucking god, but camp is over. And it took all of this weekend to recover. *mutters*

It was... one of the worst experiences of my life. Well, that may be a slight exaggeration as the children were (mostly) wonderful. It was a small group, so it was hard to really do anything with them. There were a couple I was ready to strangle by the end ( Read more... )

Especially 10 year old children who bring TWO cans of Vault EACH to drink at lunch.

UGH. I do NOT understand some parents. :| I decided long ago that if I was an elementary principal I would ban sodas of all kinds, brought from home or otherwise. I'm so glad my kid doesn't like sodas.

I... don't get it either. I had to work with one of the girls after lunch on her flute duet... She was absolutely bouncing in her seat.

Then the boy she was playing with... stuck his finger in the last joint and got that piece stuck on his middle finger. I was working with some real winners, I tell you...

You know, my parents never banned me from drinking sugared, caffeinated, carbonated beverages, so they never acquired the lure of the forbidden . . . which is the only reason I can think someone would drink two cans of Vault (which tastes intensely disgusting, by the way) at lunch.

I also don't understand Mr. Gong. A single lesson with a new instructor USUALLY is a big excitement and will teach you several new things which make you want to practice more and more. By the time you get back to your old teacher, your improvements are much more than if you'd had that lesson with the old teacher.

Clearly a performance degree from B-W means you don't know anything about anything. Duh. :)

I'm sorry it was so miserable!

I have NO idea why anyone would want to drink two cans of that stuff. I've had one can of Red Bull in my entire life -- and that was more than enough for me.

And here's all you need to know about Gong: he's an asshole and a cocksucker -- and not in a fun way at ALL.

No -- a performance degree from BW means absolutely nothing whatsoever.

Also -- you guys (meaning you, Ben, Tim, whoever else) need to come up here for Miss Saigon. Opens on the 9th. TOTALLY want you guys to come see it as it should be amazing. *g*

Yes, he was playing around, stuck his finger in the one joint, tried getting his finger out and it was stuck.

I really, really, really hate children. *shudder*

At the camp I worked at the adults were the worst. The kids were worse, but the adults got extra demerits for betraying the tribe. I just wanted to yell 'But you're adults!' So wrong, so very wrong.

At least the few other adults were decent. But 14 kids should not have been a hand full... and yet...
